Arresting illegals and criminals of other types is just not profitable and bad for morale among the union rank and file.Once arresting an illegal becomes a profit instead of an expense, look for equal application of the law.

Appreciate your optimizm, however until, as you say, Calif faces reality its just going to sink deeper and deeper. Overall, the state’s populace is addicted to entitlements and that same populace continues to vote for their enabler Dems.
No end to the stupid things the stoner state will do.
What optimism? Obviously, a plurality of the state's citizens see the state as a provider of some sort of benefit and usually in general vote accordingly.
But the idiots - bureaucrats and certain elected leaders in urban areas - in charge of this sanctuary, illegal immigrant type crap are acting very much in their own interests. It would surprise me at all if, put to a vote, the voters of this state in general rejected their point of view.
