Kennedy is popular because of a sustained PR campaign by the leftist media.
This true. Especially with the advent of TV which showcased his "boyish charm" - as compared to previous CiCs..
However, ya gotta tip your hat to his sound-bytes, which were memorable and delivered with a sense of sincere promise:
"Ich bin ein Berliner!"
"Ask not what your country can do for you.."
"We will go to the moon. We will go to the moon and do other things, NOT because they are easy but because they are HARD.
Response: Media hype and an electorate 50% of which have an IQ below 100.
Can you believe that he appointed his own brother as Attorney General?
Imagine if President Bush had put Jeb in that slot, LOL.
Ok, hit me with your best shot.......
Compared to the cheezy-bad acting of the current First Slob and her "Can't-Hide-Da-Hate" family, the Kennedys were Academy Award winners if and when they were acting.
He ranks first among past 9 Presidents because of his funeral, with the pretty wife and brave little son. Sentimentality, nothing more.
Imagine if President Bush had put Jeb in that slot, LOL.
That'd have driven the Dems WILD.
GW did assign Poppy an "Ambassadorship" however. Along with Bubba to campaign for Tsunami relief. That kinda drove conservatives crazy.
Here’s the legacy that I personally remember from the Kennedy years:
Hiding under school desks in futile bomb drill exercises. Good thing I didn’t comprehend the destructive power of Russian nukes back then.
Rankings IMO since 1960—— Reagan, Bush Sr, JFK, Nixon, Bush Jr, Ford, Clinton, Carter, OBama
You left out LBJ.
Rankings IMO since 1960 Reagan, Bush Sr, JFK, Nixon, Bush Jr, Ford, Clinton, LBJ, Carter, OBama
LBJ did more damage to the country than even Carter.
We don't know he was pro-life, Catholics are not particularly so, and I never understood how he is a war hero, I believe more along the lines that the Navy considered charges, aside from that what did he do, swim, how was he unique among the crew?
You are feeding the myth that the man that stole the election from Nixon which was probably the single most destructive act in American history was good for America.
We could have survived Roosevelt, but we did not survive the JFK/Johnson years, that 1965 immigration act that JFK wanted passed was the end.
Yeh but LBJ left the scene whereas Carter is still doing damage to the nation as a former president. Bottom line is both LBJ and Carter were awful presidents no matter where they stack on the totem pole of opinions.
Anti-abortion (we can assume by being a ardent Roman Catholic)
Sorry to disagree, but “ardent Roman Catholics” do not cheat on their wives. As for abortion Judith Exner, who claimed to have been his mistress, said he asked her if Sam Giancana would help her arrange to have an illegal abortion when she told him she was carrying his baby.

JFK was the last Democrat to have a clue about how the economy works. He was a patriot and bleieved in a strong national defense. also, he would have protected our borders. TPoliticaly, Kennedy would be a Republican today—to the right of Romney and Huckabee but to the left of Sarah Palin.
Basically, the authro is saying that Kennedy’s only actual achievement was a tax cut.
Damn straight.
His 'Great Society', aka the 'Great Dem Plantation' in 1965 launched a multi-generation social welfare system that's decimated families ever since - and black families in particular.
Then there was LBJ's (and Ted Kennedy's) Immigration Act of 1965 that changed America's demographics forever when it favored Third Worlders over Western Europeans.
No need to mention that this corrupt lunatic also managed to bury us in Vietnam.
NO President left a legacy worse than LBJ (NOT including the Kenyan.)
On his watch institutionalized welfare emerged, Third World immigration ran wild, and under his command was the worst war plan (Vietnam) in American history.
