House passes immigration bill known as "Dream Act" 216 to 198
Instant internet karma strikes again.
Go back to the Democrat Underground where you belong and take the illegals you so love with you.
I’m done with you.
Uhh his parents followed the process to become legal citizens.
In fact it is legal citizens of Hispanic origin that should be most opposed to this. Why should they play the game by the rules, while seeing others get to short-circuit the system.
And I'm laughing mine off at your ignorance.
The "Cuban kids who came over here in 1959-64" were accepted as refugees from a leftist regime and were here by invitation. Legal in every respect.
Your argument is apples...and kumquats.
And your ignorance is appalling.
Why would you laugh at citizens who want equality with illegals. Why would you laugh at citizens who want law-breakers kept out of their nation? I cannot understand anyone who laughs at their fellow citizens when 'illegals' have more rights than citizens. This has been the case and situation. There are so many examples and writings saying such. And all you can do is laugh at American citizens and those who did the right thing and came legally? I do not understand how anyone can laugh as American citizens and American citizens' protests are ignored. You cannot be any sort of a respecter of the Rule of Law.
That's because his parents and he got an immediate "Dream Act" when Castro took over Cuba......these kids have no "process" to follow to become legal even though they've been here most of their lives...this kid got a break....give some other kids a break and they might just elect a Republican to the White House like the Cubans did in Miami for 'W'.....
My Grandfather’s parents came here LEGALLY from Poland in the late 1800’s.... as did my Grandmother’s parents from Quebec. They played by the rules, assimilated into this country and became Americans! My Grandparents married... a Pole and a Canuck! They never took welfare and always worked hard and were law abiding. They loved this country... as do I.
Is this place still a Conservative forum?
And monkeys might fly out of my butt.
Sports are fine.
Even MOBYs need hobbies.
Especially useful trying to gain Freeper ‘street cred’.
1776 - 1991: America as we know and love it.
90’s Decade: America rapidly starts to mutate.
1994 Republican Revolution: America remnant rises up.
2001 - 2004: GOP is back in power but is statist/RINO.
2004 - present day: Both parties do NOT represent American values. America lost.
“I went over to U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services today and asked if they could pull up Miles Standish’s and John Smith’s I-94 records...nothing....seems like they were “illegal aliens”....”what part of illegal do you not understand”....why didn’t they just go through the proper processes and wait in line like everyone else?”

Not cute.
Not clever.
Historically vacuous.
You embarrass yourself, but as a self-hating liberal with masochistic tendencies, that is probably a desired goal.

You are a despicable piece of dog excrement.... as your post proves. I will never forget my friend in middle school who had lost all of the male members of her family to the murderers in Cuba! es, she and her Mom, Aunt and baby sister were welcomed into this country, but the loss and violence she had experience were nothing less than profoundly, sadly remarkable. You need to stop now while you are ahead amigo. Your comments offend the memory of many here who have lost loved ones to the despicable communists who murderously assumed power in Cuba.
And their parents had not been here paying property taxes, yet they were given a "free education" at my expense and free housing at my expense....deport them all and their children such as you....you free-loading alien...
Bill to help some illegal immigrants may be doomed
$$$
The Senate is expected Thursday to vote on whether to advance similar legislation, but it’s unlikely Democrats can muster the 60 votes needed to advance it past opposition by Republicans and a handful of their own members.
“It’s an uphill struggle,” Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the No. 2 Democrat, acknowledged.
*snip*
Their pleas did little to move firm Republican opposition.
“It is not being cold-hearted to acknowledge that every dollar spent on illegal immigrants is one dollar less that’s spent on our own children, our own senior citizens and for all those who entered this society who played by the rules, who paid their taxes and expect their government to watch out for their needs before it bestows privileges and scarce resources on illegals,” said Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif.
Hurray for the oft times schizophrenic Rohrbacher!
You must think you are addressing the left-hand side of the bell curve....or maybe you think that that is a valid argument, in which case you are on the left-hand side of the Bell curve.
look at northwinds post history. They signed up right after the election in 2008 and didn’t start posting until June 2010. If they are conservative this whole stance on the Dream Act is good makes me think someone hacked their account or they are a closet liberal.
My parents also. My mother cleaned toilets in a hotel for years and went to school at night while she cared for three children. My father was a truck driver who taught himself the English language.
They taught us kids love of America. To honor the flag and all it stood for. To be thankful and give back to this great country.
We were not taught to be Cubans first, we were taught to become Americans. I kiss the ground I walk on every day, as does my husband and our entire family.
We are grateful for the opportunity to live in this great land. It is why I resent the fact that others break the law and expect a hand out.
I say send them all back. I don’t care if your parents came here illegaly and dragged you here. Drag yourself back to where you came from and apply legally. You will eventually get in and maybe appreciate a little more how great it is to be an American and live in the U.S. These people take this country for granted.
Enough.
The argument against this is so easy.
“Should the gov take money away from our seniors and children to give to illegal aliens during this economic crisis?”
This will not end well.
