Valerie Jarrett, right, introduces Graham Moore, son of Michelle Obama's Chief of Staff Susan Sher. | Lynn Sweet
WASHINGTON--Susan Sher is First Lady Michelle Obama's chief of staff, but the title that seems most apt for her lately is proud mom:
Sher's son, first-time novelist Graham Moore, author of "The Sherlockian" was feted twice here:
at the residence of the vice president last Wednesday and at book party Monday that drew a "who's who's" crowd.
Second Lady Jill Biden hosted a rare personal party in the home--well decorated for the holidays, down to stockings on the fireplace--a tribute to her friendship with Sher, who is stepping down early next year and returning to Chicago.
Sher had mentioned to Mrs. Biden her son's book was coming out and, Mrs. Biden told her guests she suggested "let's have a party! That's what friends do for each other." Mrs. Biden noted Moore dedicated his book--a mystery about a mystery--to his mom, "who taught me to love mysteries when I was eight years old."
When it was her turn to speak Sher gave the book a rave review: "It's a page-turner," she said. Said Moore, 29, Chicago raised and a graduate of the University of Chicago Lab School: "It turns out the coolest part is that your mom is so proud of you."
The Biden reception drew Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Ambassador Ichiro Fujisaki of Japan, attorney Bob Barnett, a bunch of journalists and, of course Vice President Biden, who came down the stairs a bit late. Explained Biden, "I know it's an old excuse, but I was on the phone with the president."
Also looking on:
White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, one of Sher's best friends--the two met while working for Mayor Daley in City Hall--who has known Moore--one of two Sher sons----since he was a kid.
The crowd included members of Sher's family: her husband, Cook County Circuit Court Judge Neil Cohen and her father, Dr. Charles Steiner, in from New Jersey.
Jarrett--who called herself Moore's "other mother" was one of the co-hosts of the Monday night book party, and she related how "I met Graham 21 years ago when Susan and I had offices next to each other working in Mayor Daley's corporation counsel's office."
Among a Chicago-connected gang present:
Daley City Hall alums Susan Kurland, now Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs of the Department of Transportation; Cindy Moelis, director of the President's Commission on White House Fellowships with her husband, Robert Rivkin, DOT's top counsel; U of C Lab school alum David Katz, now with the Department of Energy and Peter and Judy Kovler, with long-time ties to the U of C.
Also there:
Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren and his wife, Sally.
The other hosts were all high powered D.C. women:
Hilary Rosen (the party was at her house), Anita McBride, who was former First Lady Laura Bush's chief of staff, Tammy Haddad, Rhoda Glickman, Anne Fleming and Anita Dunn, a former White House top communications strategist. Moore hits Chicago Thursday for events at 7 p.m. at the Book Cellar 4736-38 North Lincoln Ave. and on Friday December 10 at 7 p.m. at Centuries & Sleuths 7419 W. Madison St. in Forest Park.
Jarrett and Sher--who live across the hall from each other in a Georgetown building were together when they got a copy of the book, Sher said, and when she saw the dedication, what did the two high powered women do: "Valerie and I sat and we did cry, both of us."

It’s a money circle using your money.

And her father Charles Steiner...So who's Sher? Where did Sher come in? That's not her maiden name, unless her father is really her step-father. Who keeps their fist husband's name after re-marrying? Odd people, those Chicago folks.
Yeah, but where did the Kid’s name, Moore come from?? Steiner, Sher, Cohen and Moore!! Oh my!!
LOLOLOLOL! So, that is what it's called now? They used to call someone with Sally Quinn's credentials a courtesan.
The webs of incest .. they’re insidious with
these thugs and moochers off OUR hard work
and taxes. Great research, you two! How
to get RID OF THEM ?!?!?
They don’t want you to trace their stolen money.
Slow Joe is the go-to guy if you want to hide money. Keep in mind Ohaha put Biden in charge of the $2 trillion stimulus pkg and that millions in stimulus are hidden in the states (convenient to wire-transfer offshore to numbered accounts). Read on

Fraudster had links to offshore fund run by Bidens
Reuters on Yahoo | 2/23/09 | BY Ajay Kamalakaran
(Reuters) A fund of offshore hedge funds run by two members of VP Joe Biden's family was marketed exclusively by offshore firms controlled by Texas financier Allen Stanford, charged by regulators with an $8 billion fraud, the Wall Street Journal said.
The Bidens $50 million fund was jointly branded between the Bidens' Paradigm Global Advisors LLC and the offshore Stanford Financial Group entity headquartered in Antigua, and was known as the Paradigm Stanford Capital Management Core Alternative Fund, the paper said. Stanford-related offshore companies marketed the Biden fund to investors and also invested about $2.7 million of their own money in the fund, the paper said, citing a lawyer for Paradigm.
Paradigm Global Advisors is owned through a holding company by the vice president Biden's son, Hunter, and Joe Biden's brother, James, according to the WSJ. Paradigm's attorney, Marc LoPresti, who represents Hunter Biden and James Biden, as well as Paradigm, told the paper he did not know which Stanford entity invested the roughly $2.7 million.
Marc LoPresti, who represents Hunter Biden and James Biden told the paper the Bidens NEVER met or communicated with Stanford. (/snicker)

WH Meeting with BP executives in the Roosevelt Room, taken and released June 16.
(L-R): BP CEO Tony Hayward, BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, BP General Counsel Rupert Bondy, BP Managing Director Robert Dudley, Senior Obama Advisor Valerie Jarrett, Labor Secy Hilda Solis, Attorney General Eric Holder, Biden, Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. Rahm Emanuel also attended.
The buzz is Joe Biden was tapped as the point man----and reportedly told BP: "you give us $20B or we'll take it from you." Biden is the person to watch like a hawk w/ $20B floating around.
JUST WONDERING How did Ohaha arrive at $20 billion---now called the largest Dem campaign contribution ever----without the benefit of a full investigation of the causes and without a final solution for the problem? How come the $20B agreement between Ohaha and BP was not published?

DID CHI-MOB GANGSTERS SCAM TRILLIONS USING THE MADOFF MO? Ponzi Madoff created a supersecret labyrinth of interrelated international funds, institutions and financial entities of almost unparalleled complexity and breadth......with assets and businesses in multiple places overseas that hid thievery, money launderering and tax evasion.
"Professor" Obama surrounded himself with Wall Street shrewdies---like Chief Shrewdie Rahmn Emanuel. Wall Street knows how to make money disappear faster than a cream puff at a Weight Watcher weigh-in. They have access to $trillions...... tick tock, tick tock.....
Do these politicians do anything that is not illegal?
“Such an incestuous web.”
You can say that again! The only thing they all seem to have in common is living on our dole and in the media’s case...helping them to live on our dole!
Looters and Leeches the lot of them.
Party on ...
CURE honors Tammy Haddad
EXCERPT
CURE founder Susan Axelrod (second from left) and board member Connie Milstein (left) hosted the tribute at the Newseum Wednesday night and presented Haddad (second from right) with The 2010 Friend of CURE award.
Also spotted in the crowd at the Newseum: White House advisor David Axelrod (right), Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, SKDKnickerbocker partner Hilary Rosen, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe.
The main attraction was a video where various members of the media jokingly wondered what Haddad could be honored for. Guesses came from NBC’s David Gregory, ABC’s Jake Tapper, Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren, Jon Meacham, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, and MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski: an Oscar, talking in complete sentences, a Grammy, or two lifetime achievement awards in one year.

We gotta get that on a tee shirt, maybe photoshop their faces into this pic?
Biden raises his hand and says---"could you give us a hint?"
LOL...great pic! What a sorry bunch. Axelrod is such a perfect symbol for them with his Hitler looks and his perpetual sneer...LOL.

Biden the new Rahm
A smart story from Lee and Bresnahan on how Joe Biden is finally filling the role for which he was, in part, chosen, liaison to the Senate:
(snip)
White House officials say its the same role the vice president, who served nearly four decades in the Senate, has played since the start of the administration. But in the absence of Emanuel, who formerly served as Obamas chief of staff and as a House member, no one in the West Wing matches Biden when it comes to his ties on the Hill, depth of knowledge on how Congress works and having the members trust on both sides of the aisle.
