Sure, I have a hard time understanding how caribou meat could be a paying proposition when they are paying for a 600 mile flight up to a base camp in the Arctic Circle, then another 80 mile or so flight in a Piper Cub to the hunting area, but it is television, made to introduce the rest of the country to Alaska.
I'm sure they could have found caribou further south. But there was an educational value in showing the type of country near ANWR, which the green nazis have closed off for energy extraction.
The wife and I were thinking the same thing. It's for TV. But then again, meat is expensive at the local supermarket, and hundreds of pounds of meat can cost more than fuel if it's a local flight.
