A former radio talk show host, Indiana Republican Rep. Mike Pence knows how to stay on message -- a skill he proved during the final push before the midterm election earlier this month when he spent three days bussing around the Hoosier State in support of local candidates.
Since 2008, Pence has been the Republican Conference chairman, the third ranking member in the GOP House leadership and the member charged with keeping Republicans unified against congressional Democrats and President Obama.
He demonstrated that ability on several occasions during a congressional term in which every House Republican voted against the stimulus bill and every House Republican opposed the Democratic-sponsored health care bill.
"I believe House Republicans are back in the fight," Pence told Fox News' Bret Baier. "And we're back in the fight for fiscal discipline and reform."
Pence insists the federal budget can be balanced without raising taxes, but not without cutting entitlement spending. And he wants to do it without the "usual demagoguery of politics."

Did I get that right?
My gut tells me Pence is too inside-the-beltway to undo the damage our nation has suffered under the Obama-RINO alliance.
Pence is great in the House.
But in the White House we need someone with executive experience and specifically experience in cutting spending and saying NO!
Let’s see what his previous experience prior to being in the house.

That’s it. Not even any private sector, job creating experience. Pence need to show he can handle Executive power before he should consider this run. We are in the middle of a regime with a guy with no experience and how is that turning out?
MPDS’ers will be here shortly! LOL
He isn’t at all inside the beltway. You must be for Romney.
Just yesterday Rush was talking about Pence’s wonderful contribution to Imprimus digest at Hillsdale College.
I agree. Pence really ought to consider running for Indiana governor. That would set him up as a possible contender in 2016, or more likely, 2020.
Flawed premise and false choice.
LOL...
Anyone who criticizes him must be suffering from Pence Derangement Syndrome.
“Thats it. Not even any private sector, job creating experience. Pence need to show he can handle Executive power before he should consider this run.”
Elitist :P
He could be great down the road. Running (and winning) for governor would be the best thing he could do. Without that he’ll become like that candidate Duncan somethingorother.........
Yeah. I find it hard to believe that a candidate that has never held an executive position in or out of government and who has never won a state-wide election is ready to run for President.
Lack of a state-wide elective office isn’t too big of a hurdle for someone with significant executive experience (including military command experience), but having neither political nor executive experience makes a potential candidate a non-starter.
And Romneybots of course!
I see the MPDSers are in action on this thread now...shame.
Yes, anyone who is against Mike Pence must be a secret Romney troll! Simply disgusting.
It is disgusting, and hateful, and deranged.
