Hillary Clinton’s humiliation by Iran’s Foreign Minister illustrates the futility of appeasement

Policies of “engagement” with hostile powers are always risky, and frequently lead to embarrassment, as Hillary Clinton discovered last weekend in Bahrain. Foreign Policy.com has a revealing article today detailing the Secretary of State’s futile attempts to greet Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki at the 2010 IISS Manama Security Dialogue, where she was the featured speaker. According to Foreign Policy’s report:

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to speak with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki twice on Friday, pursuing him both inside and outside the gala dinner here at the Ritz Carlton in Manama. But Mottaki deliberately avoided contact with her both times…

Everybody at the opening dinner for the 2010 IISS Manama Security Dialogue, where Clinton gave the speech, was watching to see if she and Mottaki would trade words. After all, they were seated only five seats apart. Clinton went out on a limb twice to try to make it happen, but the end result was only an unintelligible mutter from the Iranian leader in the general direction of the secretary.

… The next attempt by Clinton came outside the conference space, in the driveway while both leaders were waiting for their motorcades to pull up. Again, Clinton called out to Mottaki with a greeting and again, Mottaki refused to respond.

The incident was clearly humiliating for the Secretary of State,

If the bloated leftist hillary called to me, I would ignore her. It seems appropriate to me.

Hillary snubbed by the Iranians. Hussein snubbed by Karzai. Yup, that foreign policy thing is going real well.

Talking to a woman not related to him, not wearing hijab, her wanting to shake his hand?

LOL!

He’d have sooner kissed a spitting cobra.

So it was against his religion....in public anyway.

And she tried to press the issue.

One would have hoped her state department brains would have prepped her with that info.

If they didn’t, then they’re ijits.
If she didn’t know it on her own, then she’s an ijit.
And if she did know and/or they did tell her, then she was intentionally trying to stick a fork in the guy. Which makes her a bee-yatch. Which we already knew.

This incident demonstrates clearly the dangerous, transcendent insouciance of liberal foreign policy and the relentless, single-minded treachery of an enemy that seeks nothing less than your complete destruction.

She’s trying to emulate Madeline “Mad Maddy” Albright who made her bones waddling after Yasar Arafat, begging him to return to the negotiating table in Paris back in 2000.

Hillary Clinton, Condi Rice, Colon Powell, Maddy Albright, Warren Christopher - What a cast of clowns. Warren Christopher was no prize but at least we know he wasn’t appointed because of his sex or skin color.

When is the last time we had a Secretary of Stae that put America first and wasn’t an incompetent a’hole?

Can anyone remember that far back?

That or the pant suit, either way. I once had a boss who was that ridiculous. This area is rural and filled with southern hospitality so one of my clients gave me some of their homegrown watermelons to pass around the office. I tried to give one to the new boss and he fell all over the desk trying to get away from me. He wouldn't even touch the watermelon and acted like it was a spitting cobra. He was literally in panic mode. I told him I'd carry it to his car for him and you wouldn't believe the terror in his eyes. If only I'd known then what I know now about bacon...

She’s used to it. 25 plus years of serial humiliation by Bubba and his girls has probably made her immune. However chasing the foreign minister of a flea bitten country like Iran is definitely a new low for the US Secretary of State. In a couple of years when we hopefully put Bolton in charge its going to be a different scenario.

This doesn't teach us the folly of appeasement. Neville Chamberlain taught us that for all time. This little episode only teaches us how far our nation has fallen, but we knew that as well. The only reason this incompetent harridan was chosen was to buy off her voters. Thank you BHO! By the way, you only have to count the number of special envoys to understand Hillary's value to this administration. She knows it, too. I almost feel sorry for her.

That would be the same State Department brains that didn't prep her on the Virgin of Guadalupe tilma.

.

Hey, we need to be fair with Iran ... honestly ...

The United States was a "key" (if not singular) architect and paymaster behind the STUXNET computer virus that has basically "zeroed-out" Iran's multi-billion dollar nuclear weapons program ...

Undoubtedly ... STUXNET was only a decoy computer virus ... Iran (as a military) establishment is probably history at this point ...

They can't trust their power generation infrastructure, air defense systems ... absolutely NOTHING anymore ...

All courtsey of Bush-II ... and Cheney and Rumsfeld and Bolton ...

The United States has probably initaited the ONLY "suprise" mass military "first-strike" in it's 230 year history ...

and it was HUGELY successfull ... much to Iran's (secret growing political depression) ...

For that reason ... it's obvious that the Iranian Ambassdor didn't want to face Hillary ... he was ashamed, embarrassed, defeated ...
