How about charging Assange with espionage? Clearly there are espionage laws in the US and the UK. If all they can hold him for is a half baked sexual assault in Sweden it shows how impotent the US DOJ has become.

However, the DOJ and the Obama administration have done nothing to seriously investigate the source of these leaks or to improve US security even months after the first of these leaks was made public. I find it hard to believe that a 22 year old Army PFC stationed in Iraq had unlimited access to every US secret from military memos to diplomatic information from all over the globe and worse still was able to make copies of this information with impunity. If that was the case is says the security of vital US secrets is so poorly secured that even a 14 year computer hacker could potentially gain access to nuclear launch codes.
