Not a fam of either of the Edwards'. That said; offer my prayers for this woman, who will apparently, not see her children married; nor see or know her Grandchildren. That makes me sad for her. I do wish that John Edwards would suffer some major guilt; but why go there. He probably will not and so 'whatever'; it is his life - and karma.

'Prayers Up' for Elizabeth Edwards.

Each of us has made decisions we regret. Some end up impacting us more than others. Often times, the bad decisions of our youth live with us long after. So may be the case of Elizabeth Edwards marrying John.

However, she has had more than her share of grief. She lost a beloved child, there is nothing harder to bear, her scumbag of a husband cheated on her and humiliated her and now she faces an early death due to a hideous disease.

Whatever decisions she has made, she has paid for.

I pray for her a peaceful and painless end.

John Edwards is an empty-suit. If anyone embodies the classic liberal it’s Elizabeth Edwards. Cancer doesn’t take sides in a political sense. We’re drawn together together as compassionate beings by it which only makes us stronger. Having said that, I will keep her in my prayers and pray that she doesn’t suffer long.

I have been through this death of a spouse and I only wish that Elizabeth had the family/spousal love that my loved one did when he went away from us.

I hope Elizabeth has someone special who is there for her in the end.

The difference between FR and DU. On FR, the posters are praying and/or hoping for the best for this lady and her family. Politics is set aside by nearly all posters, and gentle words and empathy is present.

This is from FReepers, who the Left consider to be the Great Unwashed, blood thirsty and uncultured.

Now, let's have a look at DU, which considers itself to be among the enlightened, the erudite, the composed and understanding, the gentle and kind. There was a post I bumped into about some Christian lady in Pakistan who is facing the death penalty because some women claimed (apparently it was a lie) that she blasphemed against mohammed. The posts on that 'enlightened' forum? The expected a) Christianity is the same and b) silence (an interesting silence, because if some rural county in the US jailed someone of a different faith to Christianity for even ONE HOUR that story would circulate as 'evidence' on DU for a mighty long time). Many of the posters in DU are hypocrites of the highest order.

Just imagine if Ms Palin had been diagnosed with even a bad flu. I can only imagine what the folks over there would be saying.

The Bible says you shall know a person by their fruit. If I claim to be nice but all I know is bitterness, or I claim to be bad but all I do is good things, the judgement is the fruit.

FR is a wonderful forum due to the wonderful people in it. The fruits show. (I sincerely hope someone in DU reads this - although I doubt the irony between what they claim to believe and what they say on their forum would strike them).

I can’t say I have a high opinion of the woman, but she sure doesn’t deserve what she got. It’s an all around sad story, and she has my sympathy.

I pray she is not suffering and is at peace. Pray also for a miracle... it is beyond sad.

Heavenly Father, I pray that Mrs. Edwards finds peace and comfort in Your grace, and forgiveness through your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Even though Elizabeth Edwards does not believe in the intervening power of God, nor salvation, and she (according to her own statements) has “somewhat of an odd version of God.” She says, “I do not have an intervening God. I don’t think I can pray to him — or her — to cure me of cancer.”

I, of course, will still say prayer for her. I do wonder, however, will God hear the prayers for the person who denies Him, His kingdom and His glory and His power?

Elizabeth and John are Methodist, but from her statements, is that really true? Admittedly, I know only a few attributes of Methodist religion, but I do believe they believe in salvation and the power of prayer and the Trinity, right?! Yet, she absolutely denies all three of those truths, in her statements.

I’ll include her and her little ones in my prayers. She’s fought a hard battle, and did it with dignity... pity she’ll not be remembered for that, but for a husband who was so selfish, so self-absorbed.

I don’t agree with her politics, however, I do truly feel bad that she will be leaving the world. My heart breaks for her children. They are going to be hurt severely by this.

I hope that she manages to hold on until Christmas for her children’s sake. My husband lost his mother 4 days before Christmas and let me tell you, it was extremely unpleasant.

Elizabeth and her family are in my prayers.
