URGENT: Call your congressman to oppose alleged tax deal

This makes it likelier that Republicans in both houses will challenge it from the right, and that any voting majority will have to be cobbled together from both caucuses.

This is the best deal we're going to get considering the Democrats have the presidency and huge majorities in the House and the Senate.

If we wait until after January 5 to make a deal it would cause great harm to the economy.
