HA! I actually remember that exact incident...thanks for the reminder, dfw...and, I always enjoyed Don’s chatter. He seemed like a guy it would be fun to hang out with...RIP.

scandals then were nothing....Lance Rentzel with teen girls

I'm old, but not so old that my memory is failing - Rentzel exposed himself to young girls on playgrounds, including a 10 year old. It says a lot about the media though - he exposed himself to a couple of little girls in Michigan or Minnesota and then was traded to the Cowboys where he exposed himself to a 9 or 10 year old a few years later in Dallas. The media wouldn't have let him get out of Michigan alive for something like that. I remember when he exposed himself to the girl in Dallas, a buddy of mine was a sports writer and called me and told me about it. I couldn't believe they didn't string him up right then and there.

Those quotes bring back memories. He was a funny guy. I saw him play at SMU and remember my uncle telling me that he would be a pro within a few years.

RIP Don. I grew up in the 60’s in Texas and watched him play every Sunday. Terrific player and great guy.
