Barring a steep drop in crude prices, U.S. motorists can expect to see gas prices exceeding $3 per gallon, if they are not seeing such prices already, according to a new survey of filling stations.
The latest Lundberg Survey of cities in the continental United States was conducted Friday. It showed the national average price for a gallon of self-serve unleaded gasoline at $2.91, an increase of 3.9 cents from the last survey two weeks earlier, survey publisher Trilby Lundberg said.

$3.05.9 in Omaha, NE last few days. Saw $3.29 in western IL a few weeks ago.
2.79 in Cedar Falls, IA
Oregon Coast diesal is $3.39.
I use the pump station Carson fuel and pay $2.79.
We don’t have Safeway fuel stations in our area but when we are down south on the coast I can fill at Safeway for $2.67.
I just started the Fred Meyer rewards since they give a ten cent per gallon discount at Shell gas for reward points but still that is more expensive than my lock card station.
The last time I saw gas under $3.09 was in Arizona on my way back from the midwest in early August. California once again ‘leads the way’....
I paid $3.29 for regular in San Bernardino CA this weekend.
In Eastern CA, in the foothills, it has been over 3 bucks for quite some time now. It is about 3.19 for regular right now, maybe higher since I haven’t filled up in a few days.
$3.19 is the alleged average in San Diego County.
I just paid 3.30 this weekend.
I filled up the gas tank last Monday near Little Rock at $2.58 per gallon. By Friday, most places were in the $2.75-.79 range.
The devaluation of the dollar was the excuse that was given on the radio this morning. Doesn't make sense that it would have caused my local prices to jump 15-20 cents overnight, though. It'd be more gradual, I'd think.
I think it’s the dollar getting massacred every other day.

That is good news. I would like to see it DROP to $3.
I paid up to 3.20 a gallon during Bush. I guess I can do it again. I think the govt wants it to go up to 4 or 5 dollars a gallon.
