That's quite relative you know. It was minus 45 a few days back, now minus 12F; feels pretty good actually. We see minus 65 every winter for a few weeks, feed the fires and watch dir tv then. We ride snowmachine, hunt until it's around minus 25 then wait till it warms up some. Junk breaks down when it get real cold and just not worth the trouble. I kept a dogteam for 15 years and would run them at minus 55, my eye balls would freeze shut, well my eye lids. I'd bite the mitten off while on the dog sled and break the ice balls off every 4-5 minutes, ha.
But we have more freedom than anywhere I've ever been. My community has no organized govt, no taxes, no ordinance, no law enforcement, no regulations, no prop taxes or any state taxes. You really got to work at it to get the state police to fly in from a few hundred miles away; ME LIKES IT TOO.
The cold winters is a small price for the freedom & peace of mind.
