She hit a tree while skiing, said she was fine, denied she needed treatment and didn’t pursue it further until it was too late.

How is that “not what happened”?

Had it been my husband, not only would he have been with me, he’d have forcibly carried me to the ER, if necessary.

*You* hit the abuse button if the truth doesn’t suit you.

Did it ever occur to you that I’m still really ticked off about it?

The day after she died, there were photos of him and his kids laughing, coming out of a building.

Nobody was all ‘torn up’ over her?

If they were, they had a strange way of showing it.

I found that deplorable.

I liked her and she deserved better.

Doesn’t matter now.
He’s already got a new squeeze.

How the facts of her completely unnecessary demise is now somehow a “political instrument” eludes me.

On a “Christian thread”, am I not allowed to express my disgust for some guy who compares Christ to all the “other prophets”?

There is no “other” prophet.

Nope. She didn't hit a tree. Natasha Richardson took a basic spill on a rudimentary ski slope. As a skier and ski racer, I followed what happened carefully. It led to much discussion in the skiing community over protection, prevention, and methods to follow.

She wasn't wearing a helmet, but she was only skiing the type of run that millions of us skied without helmets for the better part of a century. Liam Neeson was not there, he was thousands of miles away earning money for his family (making a movie).

Fine. I will. To use the tragic death of a man's wife in a freak accident as a political club to beat him up with is despicable, and below the standard of discourse at FR, in my opinion. It doesn't matter if the man says something stupid. More to the point, it has NOTHING TO DO with the stupid thing he said.

Did it ever occur to you that I’m still really ticked off about it?

Finding a celebrity death to be regrettable and tragic is normal. Being "really ticked off about it", when it involves people you've never met, and when you are clearly mistaken about the parameters of the incident, is really mentally unhealthy.

The day after she died, there were photos of him and his kids laughing, coming out of a building. Nobody was all ‘torn up’ over her? If they were, they had a strange way of showing it.

Cameras capture moments of time that can belie the real range of expressions that a face can go through over even a brief period. And I know first-hand that emotions in the face of grief run the gamut. Maybe they were remembering something funny about the mother of their family, and it helped break up the horror of the situation. Or maybe they were putting on a face for the paparazzi photographers.

I found that deplorable. I liked her and she deserved better. Doesn’t matter now. He’s already got a new squeeze.

It really sounds like you need to pull back from the pages of "People Magazine" and establish more real relationships with people in the real world. This level of mental investment in a celebrity that you are showing makes me feel sorry for you.

How the facts of her completely unnecessary demise is now somehow a “political instrument” eludes me.

BECAUSE IT HAS ZERO, NOTHING, NADA TO DO WITH THE SUBJECT MATTER AT HAND! (FACEPALM)

On a “Christian thread”, am I not allowed to express my disgust for some guy who compares Christ to all the “other prophets”? There is no “other” prophet.

But that wasn't what you were doing. If you had just said that, you wouldn't have any argument from me, and you wouldn't be dragging FR down your level of slimy insinuation.

Now, off to hit the "abuse" button, and see what happens!
