Liam Neeson has caused controversy by suggesting that Aslan, the Christlike character in C.S. Lewiss Narnia books, could represent the prophet Mohammed or Buddha.
The actor who voices the lion in the film adaptations of the books has angered some fans of the stories, who claim he is distorting Lewiss intentions to be politically correct.
Aslan the lion features in all seven Narnia books, guiding children away from evil and harm and encouraging them to do good.
Lewis was clear that the Aslan was based on Christ, and once wrote of the character: He is an invention giving an imaginary answer to the question: What might Christ become like if there really were a world like Narnia?.

I guess this still makes Mohammad a child abusing pervert.
An interesting aspect of this is that Moslems as well as Christians and Buddhists who know anything about their faith can see what a ridiculous statement it is.
Moslems know nothing of the Lord dying and rising from the dead for the redemption of man from sin. I am not sure how Buddhists even deal with our sin problem.
I don’t even think he saw the first Narnia movie and he was probably sticking his fingers in his ears going “la la la la la la” when he read the lines of Aslan.
Because there’s no such thing as bad publicity? It’s a setup among the actors, the producers/distributors, and the journalists. Controversies are manufactured, because attention to the product is attention to the product.
I believe Allah was represented by Tash in the Chronicles of Narnia books. Tash makes an appearance in The Horse and his Boy.
Leam Neeson should really try reading the books.
Since when is Liam Neeson an expert on religion. He talks
through his backside.
Hmmmm...I guess ol’ Liam has never figured out that C.S. Lewis was one of the famous “Oxford Christian Writers.”
You might want to secure a bank loan if you want to get a soda and a bag of popcorn, too! :D
Unfortunately, "woefully ignorant" is a fairly descriptive term for most celebrities who voice opinions of much of anything, these days.
This makes sense given the C.S. Lewis, we know. . .was a declared Muslim. . .and his books, full of Muslim themes./sarc off
Aslan had sex with a 9 year old?
I’m not a stalker. LOL I don’t follow you from thread to thread monitoring your posts. My comment was a simple observation.
So he his saying that the makers of the movie should be marked for death? I mean, that’s apparently the sentence for ANY depiction of Mohammed.
Was Mohammed sacrificed, only to victoriously rise from the dead? Liam? Liam? Hello. I’m waiting for your answer. (crickets).
No kidding! I’ll slip a bottle of water and a sliced apple in a bag into my purse.
Liam may want to study up on CS Lewis before making stupid statements like that.
1) Horribly bad taste on your part to post this, and 2) this is not what happened to his wife.
Don't use a family tragedy as a political instrument. It makes you, and FR by extension, look horrible - especially on a "Christian" themed thread.
Please consider hitting the "abuse" button on your post.....
Tash is Aslan, Aslan is Tash. Lewis was really prophetic.
