Your feeble (and duplicitous) attempt to mock her over it; reveals your own ignorance of the English language. The English language is a living, fluid language; and thousands of new words are added to it each year. Language scholars have determined that “refudiate” actually fills a gap; between “refute” and “repudiate”. It's a perfectly fine portmanteau; and seems to be destined to be included in dictionaries, in the near future.
