I agree. Rove is exactly right in that Bush the Elder did his part admirably and heroically in WWII.

Getting your hands dirty early in life doesn’t prevent one from being a Blue Blood, elitist Republican later.

There isn’t a thing wrong with realizing the American dream and hitting it big, based on merit, luck and effort. There is something very wrong with letting that insulate and alienate you from those who aren’t “in the club”.

I’ve known people who are wealthy, hard working types who remain just folks, and I’ve met poor snobs, too.

I don’t doubt that Rove has worked hard to get where he is, but his reaction to the Tea Party movement comes off as snobbish. If he thinks a Tea Party candidate is a worse bet than the establishment Republican that she just defeated, he shouldn’t go on TV and trash her right off the bat, unless maintaining the club is more important than beating libs.

Charley Rangle did his part admirably and heroically in Korea.

There is a time to honor our war heroes and there is a time to discuss politics. And to interject the former into the latter is just a trick to change the subject.
