You know, not to long ago in the history of this country, girls were wed at a very early age, 13-14 years old. That was considered prime child bearing age. Even advertisements of young girls clad in short dresses bending over, not even 50 years ago. Remember the old coppertone ads?Everything is reported now, before it was just hushed up.

I remember a time when little children showed affection towards one another without anyone suggesting that they were gay. I remember the Coppertone baby, and there was no suggestion of sexualizing at the time. We noticed that baby's bottoms were cute in the same way that we noticed that their little toes and fingers were cute. Remember bearskin rugs pictures, an item of hilarity sometimes, but hardly sexual.

I remember powder-puff football, when the guys dressed up as cheerleaders, each trying to out-ugly-woman the next guy. It wasn't considered drag, we didn't even know what drag was, but Bugs Bunny did it all the time to make a fool out of whoever he was trying to make a fool of. Was Geraldine and The Devil Made Me Do It drag, or comedy?

I remember when nobody thought that Sam and Frodo were gay.

Sigh///what a cesspool we live in now!
