Why do you believe the Camden PD was preventing crime and protecting citizens?
Most people who live in places like that are good people in a very, very bad situation. They’d be much better off with armed militias than with a conventional municipal union PD.
I didn't say I "believe the Camden PD was preventing crime and protecting citizens".
I said "Govts Numero Uno job is to provide protection for the citizens."
While I do not want the govt making me buy health insurance or telling me I can't have salt on my French Fries at McDonalds, I do believe the police should be preventing crime/protecting citizens. We pay for that protection with our taxes...and, if we're not getting that protection, we should be talking (yelling) at our politicians to right the situation. If our politicians don't fix it, then we get new politicians.
Whether the Camden PD is doing a good job or not, I don't know. From other comments in this thread, it doesn't sound like they are. But if I lived in Camden, I'd want what I was paying for.
