(CNSNews.com) -- Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.), founder and chairman of the House Tea Party Caucus, told CNSNews.com that there will need to be an insurrection against the House Republican leadership if it does not hold an independent, straight up-or-down vote on repealing the entire Obamacare law that does not tie this repeal to other policy initiatives including any effort to replace elements of Obamacare with new federal health-care reforms.
A spokesman for House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R.-Va.), who will be the House majority leader in the next Congress, told CNSNews.com in response to Bachmanns statement that Cantor agrees with Bachmann and is committed to the vote she wants.

Good! Let’s see who clearly stands where. Take names.
WOO-HOO!
RIGHT ON, MICHELE BACHMANN!!!
What is this? More political theater?
The Obamcare repeal will never pass the Senate, or override Obama’s veto. What is the point?
So defund, defund, defund! Don’t let them buy a paperclip or a pencil to implement Obamacare.
Bachmann has more gits then 10 Cantors. She is the real deal as is Allan West, Issa and a few others in the House. Ben Quayle also looks promising.
DEFUND. Defund the Dept of Justice if they do not run it properly.
Paul Ryan.
I want Ryan to be a bit more conservative and run for POTUS.
Before Boehner and company start messing with the health care system, they should deal with a whole host of other things first. Maybe they should wait until 2012 before they start looking into the health care laws they want to enact.
There needs to be another march on D.C. in 2011 to drive home the point if things don’t drastically change in keeping with the mandate this Congress has been given.
But it also means she'll never be President :-(
House Speaker-to-be John Boehers office provided a more ambiguous answer. CNSNews.com asked via email: Is John Boehner committed to having the House of Representatives hold a straight up-or-down vote on the complete repeal of Obamacare that does not tie that repeal to any other policy or initiative or seek to replace Obamacare with some other type of health-care reform?
We have pledged to America that we will vote to repeal ObamaCare, and we will, Boehner Spokesman Michael Steel responded by email.
Yes, but will it be in a straight up-or-down vote that is not tied to any replacement policies or anything else? CNSNews.com asked, seeking clarification.
We will have a vote to repeal ObamaCare. I cant be any clearer than that, said Steel via email.
CNSNews.com again asked: But will it be an independent, stand-alone vote on repealing Obamacare in its entirety without in the same vote approving some other policy changes such as health-care reforms meant to replace Obamacare?
Boehner Spokesman Steel did not respond to this query.
Calling for insurrection within an established order gets you hung.
Simple as that.
I agree. They need to force a vote to repeal.
And I agree with others, that following that, the next step is to de-fund it.
In fact, de-funding should be the weapon of choice.
Does EPA want to police CO2? Defund them until everyone sees reason. Does the president really want to ban drilling? Defund the Energy Department until cooler heads prevail. Does FCC really want to police the internet? Do they really want Limbaugh to give equal time to some Democrat? Defund. Endowment for the Arts wants to pay for blasphemous junk with our money? They should be defunded just as a matter of course. In fact, that shouldn’t even be a ploy, it should be absolute and final. Corporation for Public Broadcasting? We shouldn’t be subsidizing Soros projects. Defund, absolutely and definitively.
Repubs who go weak in the knees should be noted for later disposal at the earliest opportunity.
The Obamcare repeal will never pass the Senate, or override Obamas veto. What is the point?
So defund, defund, defund! Dont let them buy a paperclip or a pencil to implement Obamacare.
Ummm, it may be political theater in outting, documenting, and hopefully blacklisting those who are against repealing Obamacare.
Furthermore, there is no reason why both courses of action cannot be taken.
The point is to rally the troops, generate enthusiasm, see where everyone stands, and terrify the enemy.
It’s good, it’s excellent, and may the new R majority House scare the s*** out of RINOS and Dems.
What? You want the established elite DC insider R crowd to be the driving force in January?
Not conservative Repubs?
Agreed!
The election results of Nov2nd spelled out three major goals for the new GOP House. Hold the line on taxes, start to cut spending and have an up or down vote to repeal Obamacare.
Anything less and the new GOP leadership will be replaced.
