Well, if life was fair, you WOULD get a "pass". That's my feeling on the whole amnesty thing: if they give these millions of people a pass, after violating our laws and borders, then I DAMN well want a "Get Out of Jail Free" card to use in the case that I ever need to rob a bank or whatever.
