Oh, COME ON! Talk about damning with faint praise.

What is so special about canard that a reasonably well educated adult would not be aware of it?

And if someone wrote it for her, so what. Though to me it seems straightforward.

It is an entirely unreasonable assumption on your part, and does more to cast aspersions on her despite your flattery of her.

Canard, indeed.

Me, too. Canard is a common enough word. I certainly knew it before I left school for college.
