I fail to see why this proves anything. So, he was crazy, on meds and hearing voices, and his defense attorney told him that he planned to plead insanity because he was, well, crazy. And he told a couple of his friends what the lawyer had said to him.
That hardly makes it a plot of some kind.

I don’t understand why some of his fellow soldiers would care enough about a dead terrorist to snitch on a fellow Marine? There are times when it’s better to make believe you heard nothing at all. They must be looking for a promotion.
