Appalling to think that democrats did NOT want criminal background checks for child care workers.
Hooray for the GOP
there is nothing wrong with either amendment they added
good to see some backbone
We’ll eat what we want, Steny
Great news. It’s past time to eliminate the Department of Education. The federal government has NO BUSINESS getting involved in education.
Instead of taxing everyone, taking 9/10 of it for its own use, and passing back 1/10 to the states to help pay for education, just cut federal taxes, and raise them a little at the state and local levels to make up for the lost “subsidies.” Far more efficient. Far less invasive.
Oh the humanity ~ Democrats protecting criminals in public contact jobs one child at a time.
At my nephew school everyone gets free breakfast and lunch even though they can afford it.
“When Democrats saw that the poison-pill amendment was headed for passage...”
Uh, NOTHING can pass without Democrat support.
“House bipartisans scuttle nutrition bill...”
Those evil bipartisans...
“and help reduce childhood obesity”
If you want to see fat look at federal bureaucrats. Capt. Ahab would be in his element if you let him loose with a harpoon on the whales at the ATF.
Hartless Republicans...
Bravo.
ROTFL!......priceless Frank, just priceless!
*Whew* I was really sweating it out there...
Good job GOP.
How did it get unanimous Senate support. Didn’t any of the senators up for election in two years learn anything?
“I am disappointed Republicans chose to play politics with a bill”........starting in January I’m hoping to hear that “well worn” phrase from the Democrats being used every day.
Once the Republicans take charge of the House in January, don't use the phrase “for the children” as part of a drinking game. Pelosi and Reid will be using it so many times a day, with the press repeating ad infinitum, you won't sober up until the next election cycle.
And to call this requirement a POISON PILL is so beyond the pale.
