There's your problem ~ voting for a Democrat is NEVER a solution to a problem with a Republican.

What you need to do is get Lugar out of there now. The man is obviously senile and living in a totally different age where he imagines the agricultural sector in Indiana still needs guys to pick beans by hand.

Fact is the bean growers probably do have better access to Lugar than most members of his constituency, but they don't need the bean pickers unless there's late season rain and the fields are muddy. Otherwise they are some of America's wealthiest farmers ~ with fine contracts with Mexican and Puerto Rican bean packers.

NOTE: about 90% of the US fancy bean crop is under contract with Mexican bean marketers. In Mexico 90% of all protein derives from fancy beans. This is one of the tightest co-dependency situations between any two nations on Earth. The Rubber Meets The Road in Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas and Tennessee when it comes to fancy beans. These guys usually have 8 members of the Senate bought and paid for at any one time.

There is another factor involved as well, and it has influenced much of Lugar’s legislative agenda and actions.

He is and has always been a fully-owned CFR asset. In unguarded moments he sometimes refers to them as “the foreign relations boys” when commenting on why a particular issue is a non-starter, as in “I doubt the foreign relations boys will go for that”. It is, in the truest sense, one of their useful idiots.

I dont know about NEVER. Sometimes, the incombent RINO is so powerful, that you can not remove them via primary. Sometimes the only way to remove them is in the general election.

Now granted, voting the other side is a dangerous option because this creates an uphill battle for your guy next election cycle. But if the RINO is no different than the DEM .... might be a calculated risk.

Very rarely used, very scary last ditch surgery type option.
