WTF? Why are you being so harsh & unsavory La Enchiladita?
The question of whether or not I like the “U.S. of A.” can be answered by the answer to this question:
—Is the US about Truth and Justice?

Can you with any integrity say that the Government actively strives to ensure any 5 of the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights is upheld? Any 4? Any 3? How about two?


Amendment I.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging
the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right
of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the
Government for a redress of grievances.

Hate speech crimes?
Politically unsavory news access [FOX news or “alternative media”] to the press?


Amendment II.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of
a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,
shall not be infringed.

GCA 1968?
NFA?
BATFE?
Knife laws?
TSA flight restrictions?
Courthouse restrictions?
Federal building restrictions?
Military base restrictions?
Because-we-can restrictions?


Amendment III.
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any
house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of
war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

Actually I can’t think of an instance of this amendment being violated...
but it may when we get that nifty Civilian Security Force!!


Amendment IV.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses,
papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and
seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue,
but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation,
and particularly describing the place to be searched,
and the persons or things to be seized.

So, “probable cause” that a warrant may issue by is the same thing as a warrant? [Listen to any police officer mention probable cause.]
No-Knock warrants are reasonable?
SWAT raids are reasonable?
Border patrol checkpoints, 100 mi in, are reasonable?


Amendment V.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise
infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of
a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval
forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of
War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for
the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb;
nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness
against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property,
without due process of law; nor shall private property be
taken for public use, without just compensation.

I’m really glad that this amendment prevented bailout recipient CEOs to not answer for an infamous crime because they weren’t presented by a grand jury... oh, wait, Congress can just make people answer for whatever they want!
I’m so glad this amendment makes it impossible for the government to take my land and give it to some other private entity... oh, wait, there’s Keelo v. New England. Never mind.


Amendment VI.
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the
right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of
the State and district wherein the crime shall have been
committed, which district shall have been previously
ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and
cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses
against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses
in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel
for his defence.

Speedy trial! Now that’s a good joke!
I’m sure glad that in criminal trials I have the right “to be confronted with the witnesses against him”... oh, wait, I forgot about red-light cameras*.
*If you’re saying that such are CIVIL cases, then why does “Law Enforcement” give you a Citation?


Amendment VII.
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy
shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be
preserved, and no fact tried by a jury shall be otherwise reexamined
in any Court of the United States, than according
to the rules of the common law.

Man! I sure am glad that the GM stock holders-could have a jury-trial regarding the breach-of-contract... oh, wait...


Amendment VIII.
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines
imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Televised. Obama. Speeches. ;)
But man, I sure am glad this amendment exists and I can’t be thrown in jail for transporting personal weapons and ammo through another state... Oh, right, that NJ guy & his 7yr sentence.
Traffic fines.
Traffic fines in a ‘construction zone’.
Traffic fines in a ‘construction zone’ that lies within a ‘school zone.’
Being interested in the second amendment.


Amendment IX.
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights,
shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained
by the people.

I sure am glad that the government wouldn’t ever think about regulating gardens... oh, wait.


Amendment X.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution,
nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to
the States respectively, or to the people.

Oh, you mean like DETERMINING IF YOUR STATE WILL ACKNOWLEDGE SAME-SEX ‘UNIONS’? Man, I sure am glad a federal judge can’t step into that!
Oh, what about a state determining that NONE OF ITS JUDGES MAY USE SHARIA? Surely that’s reserved to the state or people?
