SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A taxi driver says the two suspects in an attack by two men that left him bloodied and beaten two men targeted him because of his religion.
Harbhajan Singh said two men he picked up near Harlow’s in midtown Sacramento threatened to kill him and demanded money late Saturday night.
“I said, ‘I’m from India, I’m Sikh, I’m not a Muslim,’” Singh said.

This does not sound like a Sikh. They are pretty low key, wear a turbin and carry a big ******g knife. They usually do not put up with any garbage and a real sikh would have sliced and diced these guys into sushi.
So hand over your money is now the new “die you Muslim scum” ? I am as confused as I was when friends started calling each other dog.
Apparently, you don’t know too many professional-class Sikhs. I know several business owners and structural engineers who are Sikhs. None of these professionals carry knives (Sometimes, I wish they did) and although most wear turbans called dastars, non-baptized Sikhs may not.
Almost all the Sikhs I have met, whether they drive a cab, work at convenience stores or work in an office just try to get along. After 9/11, one of the engineers’ brother was beaten pretty badly because the assailants thought he was Muslim. After recovery, he moved to the Chicago area and was the victim, with his nephew, of an armed workplace robbery. Neither he nor his nephew resisted.
Although Sikhs command numerous Indian units, their culture has lost some of its martial flavor.
I imagine he’s used to being mistaken for a Muslim. I have no problem with his explaining what he is, in hopes of averting trouble.
As for the rest of it, they just sound like a couple of stupid, ignorant muggers. They would have robbed him in any case.

I have known some Sikhs and you pretty much hit the nail on the head dude!
He is just an old man attempting to earn a living. There are some real scum in West Sacramento. No doubt we will find some Democrats in those four from Oakland or LA.
So actually he was not targeted for his religion but for somebody else’s religion.

Well honestly that “scum” should know the difference between a Sikh and a muzzie! What Frantzie said is true about Sikhs and that means that a Sikh man would do that to a Muzzie! So therefore Sikhs are cool!
