No Reason To Ration

Radicalism: A group of academics wants to force rationing in developed countries to turn back what they see as the carbon threat. How does this differ from a socialist group demanding the seizure of private property?

Negotiators from 192 nations will be in the Mexican beach resort of Cancun through Dec. 10 trying to hash out a deal they believe will curb global warming. The hot air won't be from the ocean breezes but from the negotiators' own carbon dioxide emissions. There will be plenty of nonsense from politically motivated academics, starting with Kevin Anderson, director of the U.K.'s Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

The British Telegraph reports that Anderson believes the only way to cut carbon emissions enough while letting poor nations continue to develop is to stop economic growth in wealthy nations over the next 20 years. Anderson admits it would be hard to persuade the developed world to voluntarily cut its emissions-emitting activities, so he favors consumption limits set by law.

"The Second World War and the concept of rationing is something we need to seriously consider if we are to address the scale of the problem we face," he told the Telegraph.

There is so much wrong with Anderson's proposal that it's hard to decide where the undressing should begin. Maybe we should start with his notion that poor nations can develop while economic growth in rich countries is blocked.

What about the irony of these advocates of rationing having their meeting at a world class resort on the beach instead of a proletarian city like Tomb in ubetukhan.

Rationing = governments deciding who gets what = power for the “elites” = what “environmentalism” aka international marxism is all about. Period.

Well, with one caveat: if/when these idiots get their way, they will not end up in charge. In fact, there’s a good chance most of them will be some of the first starved out or shot by those who hold real power. They really need to look up and understand the term “useful idiots.”

Progressives are like cancer. They continue to attack the host until they get what they want, usually at the expense of the host’s life.

I'm sure they all paddled their own canoes there to reduce their carbon footprint, too. What dreck. These people are sucking up public and private dollars to go on vacation style junkets and bicker about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin--and they don't have a pin.

But they get a wad of public money to fly all over and put themselves up at posh resorts and discuss nonsolutions for nonproblems, and like flipping idiots, the rest of the world is paying the emperor's tailors to fashion yet another wardrobe--out of thin air.

I'm not sure who is the most stupid, the people who are being misled or those in the world who are paying for it (no doubt there is some overlap).

Anyone, anything else, and these jerks would be up on charges.

“Climate Change” is just new window dressing for social and economic planning. Everything one needs to know about this crowd was written years ago in The Road To Serfdom.

Pyongyang would seem more fitting than Cancun. It's the perfect model of what these watermelons want from us.
