The Republican nominating process of 2012 will be totally different from that of other years. In fact, it will be the opposite of what we are used to.
Since the procedural reforms initiated by Democrat George McGovern - that carried over into the Republican Party as well - primaries have determined the winner of the nominations in each party. Iowa and New Hampshire - the first caucus and the first primary in the nation - have tended to sort out the candidates for us. They narrowed down the field and left the rest of the nation with two or three alternatives in each party.
These two small states dominated the process because the contenders usually did not have the money to wage national campaigns. They could only afford to run in these two small states at the start of the campaign. And those who could afford to compete nationally (Hillary, Rudy Giuliani, and Mitt Romney) were forced to battle in these two states because they were the first test. Their superior financial resources availed them little in states so small that the purchase of TV time would not drain their treasuries.
In effect, Iowa and New Hampshire have become the quarter-finals, narrowing the field down to two candidates in each party who compete in the subsequent primaries. In 2000, Al Gore and Bill Bradly were the Democratic semi-finalists who survived these early rounds and George Bush and John McCain were their Republican equivalents. In 2004, John Kerry and John Edwards emerged as the alternatives. In 2008, Iowa and New Hampshire winnowed down the Democratic field to Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama and the Republican contest to John McCain vs. Mike Huckabee.

Morris is inaccurate.
Romney took money from O'Donnell and Scott Brown by
using their names but keeping the $$$$ for himself.
Romney also cleverly made $$$$$ from the tax-free victory mosque at Ground Zero.
"Bain Capital, has cut checks totaling $90,000 to Romney's operation. "
Best case (and most fun) scenario would be Palin/Demint neck and neck and it’s not settled going into the convention. A floor vote necessary, both agree that the loser of said floor vote will be their VP nominee.
No RINO’s, no more.
Stop thinking Fox News or any TV channel is your friend because it is not. Fox News aka News Corp is PRince Al Waleed Bin Tal - the nephew of the Saudi King. He invests the kingdom’s money. This is the same Saudi Arabia that is a funder of Al Qeada - the people who murder Americans and US soldiers.
He also has deals with ALL 6 US TV Networks which own all the channels. He is a major shareholder in Disney/ABC News and TW/CNN plus he does multibillion deals (tens of billions) with General Electric (NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, Universal).
Also forget about Viacom/CBS News and Bloomberg. They are all pals. Wonder who Bloomberg approved the 911 Victory Mosque?
ALL of TV and ALL of Hollywood is bad. it support hussein and the islamification of the USA.
If we can only stick a sock in the mouths of the Romneybots, the Huckleberry Hounds, Skeletor, and Juan Williams, Sarah will come out on top.
It has always tremendously angered me that by the time my state gets to vote for a candidate the candidates have already been picked over by a pack of Yankee’s in New Hampshire.
IMO every state should have their primary’s on the same day just as they have their election on the same day.
I am sick and tired of having to take left overs from half -azzed small states who do not in any way express my feelings of who I want to vote for.
What makes New Hampshire so great that they get to have the first primary. A bunch of no nothing liberal Yankee’s selecting a candidate for me.
That’s crap, always has been.
I’ll start getting interested in the 2012 election around January of 2012.
This reminds me of a football game I saw Thursday. I forget the teams that were playing, but one team was up by double digits in the first few minutes of the game, but the other team gained the lead late in the game.
IOW, trying to predict anything in the first half of the game, barring earth shattering events, is pure folly.
I WILL be interested in who is where and why come January of 2012, however.
WE NEED TO HAVE CLOSED PRIMARIES!
I really don’t want FOX involved. They are the Rah Rah Romney network. So, no thank you.
I like the idea. I watch Fox News all the time anyway. We needed this is 2008 as we had Rino McCain decided for us before we had the primary.
Isn’t Sarah a guest analyst on fox? She’s been on hannity often. I don’t see romney on at all. Maybe I missed something.
I just posted this on another thread so if Fox is going to have the sway Morris is saying they better be ready to roll....

New Hampshire democrats choose the GOP Presidential candidate...the primary is WIDE open...in 2008, NH Dems chose McCain for the pubbies. Now look.
We haven't learned our lesson...who will NH dems pick in 2012? It won't be Palin...
That's really a shame, too, because voters in both states have to expect the candidates to get to know them personally and practically eat in their kitchens in order to get their votes.
See? And that's precisely what the establishment is counting on!
Stop Palin in New Hampshire and maybe in Iowa, too, unless she sits in a lot of Iowa kitchens and talks Jesus 24/7.
That all sounds like NWO, Rockefeller, Bilderberg conspiracy crap.
Tell me where I am wrong? Saudis export Islam to the West and fund every mosque in the West. Saudis fun al qeada which kills americans and American soldiers? Where am I wrong?
Prince AL Waleed Bin Tal is the largest individual shareholder in News Corp aka Fox News plus Disney and Time Warner. They already did the Islamification on the UK. We are next. Sorry to ruin your little TV, ball games and dancing contests.
Saudi TV which wants you to be a slave and your kids dhimini serfs. You are an energy serf for the Saudis even though your country has 4 to 5 times more energy than the Saudis. Keep bing a chump - chump.
Keep watching because your viewership supports your slavery. Dopey people.
