The plane fell 610m before the captain got back into the cockpit - and another 1520mt as he struggled with the panicking co-pilot.

Things that make you say, “Hm, I wonder if the co-pilot’s name was Mohamed?” Just wondering.

In any case, not a very good resume-enhancer for the co-pilot;)

I’m a pilot and I cannot imagine another airline pilot being that incompetent.
There are thousands of hours of training...

This is the same type of ¨system fault¨ that Egypt Air claims downed their plane a few years ago when an islamist pilot dove it into the ocean.

Like the 1000 point plunge in the DOW when someone made a decimal place error.

IOW, this is BS. Evidence presented in this article (not the claims, but what actually happened) all point to an attempt by the copilot to crash the plane.

Line ‘em up. It’s pretty obvious, frankly.

Check it out:
1. Copilot pushed the control column forward, sending the plane into a dive.
2. Pilot had to use emergency code to get through the cockpit door into the cockpit.
3. There was application of opposite force by pilot and co-pilot on control column.

What does that say?

Reminds me of Planes, Trains and Automobiles where John Candy got his parka caught on the seat adjustment while driving with no hands at 70 mph.

If the co-pilot is Muslim, we will know very soon.

Travel on any third world airline (that includes Russia, India, China, and any non-English speaking or non-European nation) is taking your life in their hands.

The selection process and training for these people would terrify any western pilot used to high standards and inspection. This clown was probably selling food from a push cart or the nephew of someone of influence or wealth a year ago.

Also, the co-pilot would not open the cockpit door and would not answer the cabin call.

"Mohamed?”

1) Locked out the Pilot and wouldn't let him in.
2) Countering the Pilot's control of the aircraft.
3) Previous fatal crash 4 days earlier.

Well, there is one Co-Pilot who will probably not get his masters ticket anytime soon, if ever.

IMO, it is impossible to be that incompetent. Something else was going on.

"There are thousands of hours of training..."

India, among other third world countries, has heavily used first world pilots for a long time, most crews are split, but pure in-country crews are being seen more and more.

There is usually a LOT of friction on split crews, CRM just about non-existent, scary and frustrating work for the competent ones.

Indigenous pilots frequently are way below first world standards, especially for left seaters.
