The bottom line I hope is that the damage will prove to be ephemeral and that no long term effect will change the basic reality that the US remains the only global super power for the forseeable future. as America continues with its slow conversion to a 'soft tyranny' that other countries, such as China, takes her place as the new superpower -- both economically and in terms of freedom.
