in socal this would be a $5000 per month electric bill if you charged it 8 hours a day, every day. Whats next horse and buggy??? Seems to me that all this “New Alternatives” are a GIANT STEP BACKWARDS.

A lot of people are going to get killed in house fires caused by charging electric cars in homes with old or sub standard wiring.

The Volt uses 10KWH to drive 40 miles. Even at Summer peak rates in socal, that is $3.50 per day to drive 40 miles. That’s $100/mo, not $5000. Roughly the same cost as gas or diesel if you have a 40mpg vehicle.
