The Lion King may be about monarchy, but it does a great job of showing how bad a selfish, unresponsive, and incompetent regime can be for the overall health of a nation.
Good point about the Lion King, to me an the attempt to bring the hyenas in as a partner is an allegory about Communism, where they try to give the lower class masses the illusion of power, in order to use them to achieve their aims.
