GOP Gaining Ground With Hispanics?
Hot Air ^ | 27 Nov 2010 | Matt Lewis

Remember all the hand-wringing from those smart “conservative” pundits (you know who they are) who, after the 2008 election, argued that the GOP had to moderate or else risk extinction?

Once it became clear that 2010 would be a good year for Republicans, many of these same folks quickly pivoted, adopting a nuanced argument that went like this:

“Sure the GOP can have a good year in 2010 — but that’s a mid-term election. Winning in 2010, however, will actually reinforce the GOP’s silly notion that they can win the future without changing their conservative (read mean-spirited) ideology. After all, changing demographics mean that conservatism will eventually go the way of the dodo”…

Now, even that argument, which — let’s be honest — was really their “plan b” argument, seems to be falling apart.

“Not the ones that become Protestants, they are about a 50/50 vote.”

It doesn’t matter, they will vote Democrat because the Republicans blocked amnesty for their parents.

Yes it does matter, the ones that become Protestant become a different type of Hispanic, a more conservative, more American type, that votes closer to the white Protestant voter.

Thanks for the answer. Took you awhile, and the bit about being a noun being the reason is just fine.

But the reason for my post is to raise consciousness that seems to have been lost in America due to cultural Marxism (also known as "political correctness").

Popular discourse now bestows victim status on "hispanics" or "latinos". This expresses itself in the media as a continuing elevation of their cultural status by use of glorifying adjectives ("vibrant culture" for example).

For that matter, the identity group nomenclature - which doesn't exist in Spain or Latin America - is itself a successful attempt to create a victim group where one did not exist before - merely an enemy group based on the history of the Americas (Anglo-British Protestants at war with Spaniard Catholics, and later Mexican Catholics after the Mexican War of Independence between 1811-1821).

The opposite intent of the Bolshevist cultural warriors - those implementing the intent of Gramsci, Adorno and Marcuse - is to deligitimize White Anglo Saxon Protestant (i.e., American) culture and governmental norms by using diminishing adjectives, pejoratives, and bigoted slang ("cracker", "gringo", etc) which Americans are supposed to simply accept without retaliation.

This has the intended effect of cultural defeat and diminishment.

To the extent that people cooperate with their approach, they win. To the extent that we do not, and we call "BS" as you claim my motive was, we can push back, and save our nation and culture.

The word "Hispanic" is itself a made up label as explained above. Spaniards are mystified by its use as applied to them because they are white Europeans for the most part and they refer to Mexicans as "South Americans", for instance.

But it is no mystery where such words come from if you understand the cultural initiative that spawned them.

By using them, and in some cases accepting the notion that Spaniards who settled in Northern New Mexico in 1640 are some sort of "victim" class which is entitled to special consideration, people surrender to the culture war imposed on us by the Communists who seek to weaken America from within.

We should not surrender.

"Undocumented Workers" are illegal aliens. Nothing more. If "Hispanics" are Americans, then that's all they are. Nothing more.

Now you know. Whether you intend it or not, to me, you are engaging in the cultural attack on the American nation by acquiescing to the cultural rules propagated by the cultural Marxists.

And on that, I call BS.

Well, let me tell you something buddy - I served my country for 24 years and I don't need you or anyone else giving me lectures or suggesting I'm attacking my country in any fashion. I hope that's clear enough for you.

There certainly are millions of mojados/illegals in the US, dining on our tax dollars, which fans the fury of every law abiding American-it actually makes most native-born and legally immigrated Hispanic Americans more angry, because it causes many people to use that broad brush to make “Hispanic” a dirty word. Reagan opened that amnesty floodgate, and what a mistake that turned out to be.

The reason those illegals are here in the first place is the greed for votes and pandering of liberal politicians of all ethnic groups and political parties-not honest citizens of any race or ethnic group. I know that California has seen some of the worst consequences of illegal immigration-abuse of the law, lack of assimilation, arrogance and anti-American sentiment, etc, because of their coddling of illegals, but the people there still keep voting for limousine liberals.
