A 6 year old gets expelled for hitting another child..really? My 3 year old grandson bit his brother today REALLY HARD...ALL KIDS DO CRAP LIKE THAT.

The principal owes not just these children, but every other child in that school a calm environment in which to learn. It's not his/her job to cure "rage issues" (mentioned in the article) in children. I also noticed in the article that three of the children have been expelled, two of which are girls. Girls (generally) don't act out as much as boys, especially violently. This really sets alarm bells off for me.

I would bet nearly anything that there is much more to this than one child simply hitting another. I've seen the mother on TV and she's very confrontational, and seems downright uninterested in her kids. If she's like that on TV, I wonder what she's like with her children in private

Aren’t professionals supposed to know how to deal with it? We are going to have a generation of neurotic men...who are being punished for every boyish thing they ever do or even think of doing. WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Just my opinion, but in this case, these children may be a detriment to the other kids at school. I sincerely do not think that it can possibly be in any child's best interest to have their private lives filmed for TV. It can't be good for the child and it can't help with their emotional development. Principals and teachers can only do so much with children who have been emotionally damaged.

If we sent our child to this (private) school, you could bet that we would not tolerate our children having obscenities screamed at them and/or being hit. I doubt the other parents are too happy about it, either.

Just another reason to homeschool, which we do :D

Other parents will FORCE the school to take action. IN tough times, NO private school wants the other kids to LEAVE and loose the tuition because of undisciplined kids. So the parents of the other kids do serve as a check and a balance.

Privates school will tolerate less favoritism and winking at bad behavior. Kate would be better off putting her kids BACK into a public school. There she could blend in with the crowd that winks at bad behavior and all prepared with the excuses of “kids will be kids” - indefinitely.

OTOH, some parents want kids to be disciplined. OTOH when kids are disciplined in school, some parents moan about that. I say, put them in PUBLIC school and they will get away with what ever they want. It's really tough if not impossible to be expelled from a public school.

Heck the public schools THRIVE on undisciplined kids. They'll require the kid to load up on drugs and then get state aid for the kid. Undisciplined kids are a cash cow for the PUBLIC schools. It's interesting to see the reactions of people here, who want to excuse the behavior and don't understand how private schools operate whenit comes to discipline and rules.
