“I’m sure living off fish, seagulls and rainwater for 50 days was no picnic either.”
The note that they resorted to drinking sea water shows real desperation.
That, alone, would have done them in in a day or two.
“That must be another wonderful paradise. How is the diving there? Pretty spectacular, I imagine.
I am quite happy here, with a Philippine girlfriend and nice neighbors. I am about to start my third year.
I am not a diver, but I understand that it is quite good
from any of the 7007 islands of the Philippines.
I was born and spent 55 years of my life in Tennessee, but started world traveling in late 1999.
I moved here from Slovakia, where I spent 5 years.
I am most happy not to be back in the USSA, Obozoland.
I thought so!! WAR EAGLE!! I am an Auburn alum - my son is now a junior there - my daughter is planning to go there next year (this is her senior year). My husband did not go there but fortunately did not attend another SEC school so we get along OK - LOL
Please ping me for the iron bowl thread! I plan to watch it with my family while eating left-overs... I would *love* to see other FR Auburn fans. I stumbled into a thread the other night that had so many Auburn “haters” and it was so sad :(
I think you need to post your suggestion at the top of your thread -( that the Bama fans start their own thread.) So nice to “meet” you -
You are now on the list to be pinged. And I am planning to do just that, ask the Bama folks to start their own thread. I’m putting a buffet out for us to enjoy. And, if we win, my daughter and I are heading down to Toomers. War Eagle!
FWIW, I graduated in ‘76.
Ohhhh .... I’m so jealous of being able to head down to Toomer’s Corner .... We live outside of Atlanta - my son is home for Thanksgiving and may watch the game with us but also has been invited to watch with some other Auburn friends.
We must have been there at the same time - I was there from 1971 to 1977 - I went straight through - got my BS and MS and then worked for Auburn (in N. Ala.) for several years before coming home to Ga. Still miss it :)
Look forward to seeing you on the board tomorrow! Thanks so much for letting me know about it!
Please add me to the ping list. My family would disown me if I didn’t join the WAR EAGLE bunch.
You have just been added. War Eagle! Beat Bama!
Amazing. Just last night, I caught a broadcast about some guy who spent 76 days adrift in the atlantic ocean, made it all the way across from the others side, over to the Carriben and was discovered by some fisherman.. love these stories..
The Lord works in strange ways sometimes.
I would have LOVED to see this on the news!
Praise the Lord.
My youngest is 14. Well, you know how much I love my kids...
“This is a true miracle.”
It is. God sent a seagull to feed Eddie Rickenbaker in WWII when he was in similar circumstances. And then He had the fishing boat take a different route - one that would intercept the lost boys.
WOW!
His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures unto all generations. Oh, that men would thank him for his goodness to the children of men!
