What is the frequency rates for skin infections of this type among wrestlers?

In my seven years of wrestling I was aware of about three cases, hardly an epidemic.

You site one case and want that to be representative of the whole sport then you want to extrapolate that to some sort of comparison to TSA searches?

As your article stated, transmission can be from skin to skin contact. Skin to skin. Any indications that TSA gropes include skin to skin contact?

Yeah, all it takes is for someone to challenge what you say then you go on the attack trying to assail their ‘conservative credentials’.

Isn’t that what people like you accuse the leftists of doing?

All forms of herpes are highly infectious. It is even considered to be life threatening for the baby if a woman with herpes simplex choses to vaginally deliver. Caesarean is the delivery option of choice in these cases.

PS: I don’t eat in restaurants which get bad ratings, do you?

I'll be willing to bet that I've been in far more commercial kitchens than you have and that I've seen far more 'icky' stuff in decently rated restaurants than you have. Yet even with the abundance of 'ick' there are very few illnesses from those actions.

I would have thought that maybe you'd like to have some relief in finding out that the risks in TSA gropes are not what you imagined, but it seems you prefer your hysteria.

It is still my opinion that we should focus on the loss of freedom aspect instead of they hygiene aspect.

What are you going to say when they fix the hygiene aspects? THEN you'll look at the loss of freedoms? Then?

And of course, then they can dismiss your concerns as just being another case of hysteria and hyperbole.

Correct but I don’t think we want to go on record comparing TSA searches with vaginal deliveries.

Have you heard that the bedbug infestation is being spread by the TSA across, up and down and throughout the country?

The “message” wintertime is questioning is your opinion! You want your opiion to be humbly accepted as eternal verity by everyone? It’s natural to question a person’s credentials if they state a fact-free opinion!

Sheesh.

I sure as heck don’t want gloves that touched other peoples’ clothing *and* skin! Puke!

That rule - Godwin’s? - that the first person to bring up a comparison to Hitler and Nazis loses? (Except in cases where the comparison is relevant and valid, of course!)

I think there should be a rule that the first person who accuses the other of “hysteria” or getting “hysterical” loses.

So, Eagle Eye, you lose!

Grampa Dave is NOT hysterical, nor is anyone else on this thread. They just don’t see eye to eye with your grand self.

Ever see any of the documentaries about what happens during an outbreak of filovirus?

Full-body biologic containment suits for anyone entering the area.
Trenches or long trays full of bleach that you have to walk through going in to or leaving possible infected areas.
Mandatory 30 day quarantine of everybody suspected of having even casual contact with infected individuals.
Incineration of all personal effects of any infected households.
We’re talking about Ebola.

Now you might catch a cold from breathing the same air as someone with a cold on an airplane, just for the heck of it, call that level one.
You could catch the flu from visiting a friend with the flu and touching the doorknob, the risk is low, but let’s call that level two.
But it is way, way, way more dangerous, and any doctor worth a dime will tell you that by far the most possibly efficient method of transmission is DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE BODY FLUIDS OF INFECTED INDIVIDUALS! This amounts to like level 99+++!!!

Might as well have everybody in line share a hypodermic needle...

Or just wait a year or so until cavity searches become de rigueur as a prerequisite for air travel.

(And they still don't change their gloves!

And there are documented cases of HIV transmission due to improperly sterilized dental equipment!

How many behaviors do you alter because your chances go from one in a million to two or even ten in a million?

Good question.

So please explain to me why we are going through the whole scan/'pat down' rigamarole again?

Yeah, you’re right...hysteria is the wrong word to use to describe emotional distress caused by allegations of potential illnesses based upon unsubstantiated risks.

Bullsh** might be more appropriate.

So far on this thread we’re seeing implied comparisons of vaginal delivery and wrestling in regards to disease transmission and TSA searches. That isn’t even apples and oranges, it is apples and pickles.

Look how those diseases are commonly transmitted and see if that matches how TSA searches are performed.

Then look at how those diseases are possibly transmitted and see if that matches any description of TSA searches.

Then look at the probabilities of the possibilities.

God gave us common sense but most seem to be afraid to use it.

Are you afraid of asbestos tile? Mold? Lead? Have you bought into the pop culture psuedo science on these issues?

How about getting riled about the REAL loss of freedom rather than the imagined potential for disease posed by the TSA searches?

It seems to me that if the hygiene issues are resolved then you have little objection to TSA groping. So if they use fresh nitrile gloves and some hand sanitizer you’re ok about it all?

Cuz if you focus on the hygiene then they got you by their blue gloved hands.

Hellifino. Government powerplay?

IDK and I hate it.

The hysteria surrounding the potential health issues seems to substitute for what should be the real outrage.

But it is not uncommon for people to look at lesser issues when they are intimidated or in denial on the real issue.

Some posters come across as being ok with gonad fondling if it is done with fresh gloves. And if they focus on the fresh gloves that is exactly what they'll get!

And there are documented cases of HIV transmission due to improperly sterilized dental equipment!

Care to share your source?

Not saying that it can't happen but the occurrences of this has to be extremely rare. Female to male transmission is almost impossible so transmission via dental equipment hast to be extremely rare as well.

I have no idea.

I do know of a famous case in which a young lady got AIDS from a dentist in FL and she subsequently died. IIRC a few patients got AIDS from him. How they got it I don’t know, but the dentist was a homosexual with AIDS.

I seriously doubt any passengers are going to get AIDS from TSA molestation. But it’s possible they could get lice, MRSA, fungal infections and possibly some of the other stuff.

OTOH, it provided a bulletproof alibi for a straying husband:

“Gosh darling, I’ve always been faithful, I must have got it from those eeeeeeevil TSA agents!”
