Read the transcript (below): She DID misspeak:
“...we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies.”

Interviewer: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea?
Palin: Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we’re all sitting around asking, ‘Oh no, what are we going to do,’ and we’re not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies we’re bound to by treaty....
Interviewer: South Korean.
Palin: Yes, and we’re also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

Oh, so we’re ALSO bound to stand with our South Korean allies too (meaning, in addition to the North Korean allies she just mentioned?)? Go figure.
What a completely wordy, illogical sentence (I had trouble just reading it! By the way, I’m a professional writer):
And now this sentence:
“...So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy.”
And this sentence:
“...Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we’re all sitting around asking, ‘Oh no, what are we going to do,’”
These are not words of a Statesman. Disorganized thought and 10th grade level manner of expression.
She sounds like some of the women on “The View” (”the Spew”) with Baba Walters; the only difference is Palin is a conservative.
Compare her sentence construction to that of Reagan, need I say more?
I’m sorry, but she’s got great values, but is not as effective of a spokesperson for the conservative movement as a Bachman or DeMint could be. Whoever the Tea Party & True conservatives come up with, I’m sure will be good because we have a lot of good choices now. I just think Palin is going to embarrass herself one time too many with her ignorance of political history and her 10th grade verbal skills.
She’s popular because of her star power and good looks, but there are far better conservatives who could lead us and not offer so much real fodder for ridicule.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and all.
“I just think Palin is going to embarrass herself one time too many with her ignorance of political history and her 10th grade verbal skills.
Shes popular because of her star power and good looks, but there are far better conservatives who could lead us and not offer so much real fodder for ridicule.”
I have to agree. Maybe if it were any other election, we could roll the dice with her, say 1996 against Clinton’s second term when there wasn’t as much to lose. I understand people’s passion for her, I felt the same way for Reagan (still do actually). But if Obama is not defeated, Obamacare becomes the law of the land, and the chance for repeal is gone. The reality is that she’s too polarizing and we need someone who can beat Obama. Period.

She obviously meant to say “stand with our South Korean allies - we’re bound by treaty...” and is then interupted and corrected by Beck. She continues the thought, with the corrected South Korea, and finishes what was probably the rest of her original sentence: “... we’re bound by treaty and also by prudence....”
Yeah - that other sentence about sitting around talking was mangled.
