Marines are not Special Forces. They neither have, nor recruit, nor train nor have the institutional temperament. They are and have been what is called ‘assault troops’.

Name a regular Army,Navy or Air Force unit that receives the equivalent of Marine Corps training along with the traditional heightened espirit les corps?
Rangers,SEALS,Green Berets etc— all special forces.
