Certainly not without sin. But I can make a choice based on the moral ground of Christianity when the choice is that clear. If my life were actually on the line, I don't know, probably not, but if I chose wrongly I would know it and would not embarrass myself by suing about it. Hers was not no matter how much you would equate pecuniary gain with Life. I hate the term "hypocrisy" because it has been cơopted by the Left to mean "on the other side" but that is what her suit represents in a big way.

Funny, you are attacking the person who believes so strongly as you that she is risking everything to sue those who coerced her into doing an immoral act. So, what does that make your argument if she is a hypocrite? I think it just shows that at least in this case you have chosen to ignore compassion and empathy to make some point which is nearly groundless and more importantly...irrelevant to what is important in the story. In other words, you have chosen to be dogmatic rather than empathize and think it through.

If you understand the power that economic coercion can have then you would not be so hard on this young lady. And, you would see that your argument is baseless.

The problem is that you do not understand, you do not show compassion, you do not empathize in the least. You ignore the relevant data in order to persecute someone who believes about the immorality of abortion as you claim to...she is doing something about it...that is more than what most pro-life people do. And all you can think of is some self perceived judgement against her.

I don’t condemn her for choosing to put material things before Life. I call her a hypocrite for then suing for payment for her choice, but then if material gain was was the reason for the first then why not go for all you can get? Kill the baby then get the hospital to pay you extra for it.

Ok arthurus...time to pay the piper so to speak...:) Did you actually read the article? If you did you would have realized that she was told it was an emergency. In other words the implication was that the “mother” would die if the abortion was not performed. This was not presented to her as an elective abortion. She still showed a preference for not assisting...and hence, was threatened with her livelihood if she did not assist. She had made it clear to hospital administration since 2004 that she understood that abortion was immoral and that she did not want to participate in them. Having learned that she was duped caused her psychological trauma (who with good conscience would not?) and she pursued legal action probably as a way to revenge for the despicable action taken against her in the first place. She was used horribly by this hospital, lied to, threatened and forced to commit an immoral act that she did not want to do. The relevant part of the story is that in the interest and desire to cheapen life as much as possible the court has dismissed the case. Our legal system is defunct, it is non-existent in a real sense. We are dictated to by whim rather than moral reason. That is the issue here arthurus. The same evil that causes abortion is certainly enjoying your attacks on this woman who is staunchly against abortion. That is the cunning of satan, he has learned how to make otherwise good people accept evil things as good.

>>This was a fully developed infant being ripped apart by leftist vermin.<<

Truth be told.

No way could I have stood there, let alone assist. I’d be working at Walmart or totally unemployed.

So she still chose her job as she watched a baby have his/her skull smashed, brains sucked out and pulled out.

Anyone who could stand there is morbid. She was told it was an emergency for the life of the mother and that’s supposed to make it all better? She is a nurse, for heaven’s sake and pro-life. EVERY ONE of us know that there is NO “life of the mother” issue in this. ANY mother that can go through a late term abortion procedure can be given an epidural and the baby removed with a six inch incision. Alive.

The legislation that allows them to do this was passed by a lesbian NYS Assemblyperson Debbie Glick, about 6 years ago. She got plenty of help from the rest of the scumbags in the Assembly and Republicans in the NYS Senate plus Pataki. Probably not more than 1 in 100 New Yorkers know this is the law and probably not more than 30 in 100 New Yorkers agree with it.

You two obviously know more of the laws of the Church than I. I only know what I learned in school (parochial) and have never confronted the situation personally nor do I know of anyone who has.

Why are you making a smarmy remark to arthurus? There was a choice and she/he did not say she was without sin, your judgment of arthurus is less than christian. Congratulations to you for your self-righteousness and smarmyness to those that disagree with you. Her action was honorable not rare, your remark was not necessary.

Unfortunately it is a teaching that is often overlooked, probably as to conform to many other Christian churches’ positions (which are as you describe). If the Catholic Church ever allowed that loophole I’d be looking for another church.

Well, at least she is not latae sententiae. But she “may” (which is hard to tell from this armchair regardless) still be under grave sin.

However, a place called “Mt. Sinai” Hospital is misleading, it is not Christian to abort.
