This is typical tyrannical government action. Impose a draconian system to oppress people, and then grant favored subjects leave from the system, so long as they fall in line.
Examples abound in Obamacare, where we are all screwed, but then some well-placed companies, unions, etc get waivers in exchange for not complaining.
Or the “Disclose” act, which imposed unconstitutional restrictions on free speech and association, but granted exemptions to loud, well-financed organizations like the NRA, thus buying their support or silence.
For those who think searching Muslims is profiling, If Christians had declared they would kill all non-Christians and destroy the United States, I would be for searching all Christians.
The most we can hope for from Congress is maybe a new law...requiring TSA personnel to change their rubber gloves after each “proctology” exam.
