Just out of curiousity... why aren't we using one of the most effective methods in our arsenal, the dog?

Or even pot bellied pigs. They can detect far more than a gropey TSA employee, or a scanner manned by a minimally trained federalized baboon, even if the dangerous item is stuffed where the sun doesn't shine. And the presence of divine swine might be a good way to make a potential terrorist break cover as he or she would have a difficult time hiding their expressions of revulsion or even fear.

Oh, wait...

Muslim TSA workers would object because both animals are "unclean" and they would not submit to learning to manage these animated detection devices, even if the animals took a liking to them.

CAIR would object because dogs are exceptionally good at profiling people.

And of course the most important lobby of all, liberal terrorist defense attorneys and their clientel, would object because their clients might suffer the loss of their hoped for 72 virgin privileges in the afterlife if their crotch bombs were detected by an unclean beast before they were able to get aboard an aircraft.

If Soros was invested in dog turd & pig manure futures would the Obama admin give dogs and hogs a try?

The TSA screener can be replaced with a program that could analyse the return data and just output “clear” or “anomaly” on a computer screen. An image would just be painted if there was an anomaly. There are millions of ways to fix this with software but they don’t want to.

I believe that TSA has adopted an alternative approach and is upgrading software so that the body image is replaced by an avatar, a cartoon figure. All of the other images remain unchanged. Sounds to me like a superior solution to the distortion idea.

The radiation (which I am not keen to and understand that there are different opinions on its strength and effects), both the imaging and the assault/groping are serious affronts to our most personal dignities.

With that said, I am not a super geek and am curious if anyone knows if distorted, avatars, cartoons, or anything of the sort would still result in "hidden", but real, images somewhere in the program. IOW, can real images still be accessed?

And why, do you suppose, is that?

The goal of Obama and his Alinskyite followers is to break you from the bonds you have come to trust.

You trusted that a dollar was worth something.

You trusted that you would have a job.

You trusted that someone would stop the government before it reached too far.

They intend to break your trust in everything, then when you are starving, they'll hand you a crumb and you'll be grateful enough to drown a baby.

Laugh all you want. That's what this crowd intends to do.

You are quite right, but they probably would not have sold any to the TSA if the body were filtered out of the display. Not for the reasons people might think, but because the TSA decision makers would have thought that it wasn’t working. Since there was no requirements document, the vendors were not required to address privacy concerns and they didn’t. They fully understood that some device that was purported to “see through clothes” had better show a “nekked body”. I suspect that the selection committee consisted of Dumb, Dumber, and the three Darrell brothers: Darrell, Darrell, and his other brother Darrell.

The sensibilities of the peasants are of no concern. They, their income, and their naked images, are the property of the Royal Federal Oligarchy.

There is no need to bend to their sense of decency any more than a King need bend to the protestations of a serf.

Agreed, and distortion, cartoon, or avatar in this case would that "crumb"...throw the worst case scenario at us, then all are happy when it is only a cartoon, even though we are still exposing ourselves to them.

I'll tell you why they don't want to. It's because the true purpose of the scanners is to create a biometric record of every citizen. In the next few years, there will be scanners at every court house, bus station, train station, shopping mall, government building, college campus, etc etc etc etc. You won't be able to go anywhere without being instantly recognized, even just walking down the street.

This is the plan. It's up to us to stop it right here, right now.

Let’s quit beating around the bush. Create a special lane where all muslims are screened. Leave everyone else alone and things will be just fine. We are wasting resources groping nuns and little kids.

Why not just increase the resolution of the scan so much that you gather enough information that you can teleport someone and do away with needing to step on the plane in the first place?

I was (re)reading some American history recently about the Sons of Liberty. The members, unhappy with unfair treatment by the King, threatened the King's tax collectors individually and in person, so that being a tax collector was no longer very popular and many quit. A very effective reminder that we all have personal responsibility for our actions. "Only following orders" is no excuse.

The Israelis are working hard at developing a new airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners at the airports.

It’s a booth you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you. They see this as a win-win for everyone, with none of the whining about racial profiling. It also would eliminate the costs of long and expensive trials. Justice would be swift. Case closed!

You’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter, 2 announcements come over the PA system: 1 - “Attention standby passengers — we now have a seat available on flight number ____, and # 2 - “Clean up needed at security check point 7”.

So the same when the government tells us that there is no excuse to ignorance of the law... so the same, no government worker is released from responsibility when they claim " just following orders " ......
That's the excuse the Nazi leaders and officers where saying after WWII at the war crime trials.
TSA agents touching the private parts of children who are under the age of consent is child abuse no matter how you look at it.... it does not matter if it's government sanctioned, or that government TSA agents are exempt from child abuse criminal charges... it's still child abuse.

I havent followed these threads so maybe someone has already suggested this

My idea is to prescreen passengers for the long haul.

Grandmas, kids everyone goes down and goes through a thorough background check once. They all get a “travel card” with ID picture allowing them to pass through all screenings in the future.

You get the vast majority of travelers checked out once and be done with it

If need be run a random check over those who have a “travel card”

Or just engage the Infinite Improbability Drive, and move the universe so that you're standing where you wanted to end up, and the TSA agents are now whales.
