David Frum's Palin Obsession
C4P ^ | November 22, 2010 | Doug Brady

Posted on 11/22/2010 5:20:38 PM PST by DB9

Admittedly, that David Frum is obsessed with Governor Palin isn't exactly a news bulletin, but Frum's Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS) has reached a level of hysteria hitherto unseen. Frum, of course, is the faux armchair conservative who believes the path to Republican ascendancy is for us all to become Democrats. The thorough drubbing Democrats took at the hands of Republicans three weeks ago, most of whom ran on solidly conservative platforms, demonstrates just how wrong Frum is. But I digress.

In the past three days, Frum has written no less than six posts on Governor Palin. Can you say obsession? On Friday, Frum criticized Governor Palin for retaining the services of the very able former C4P editor Joshua Livestro to assist her in researching the European Debt Crisis. This prompted Livestro to respond in kind, and he wasted no time in exposing just how juvenile and baseless Frum's attack on him was. Leaving aside this nonsense, that Governor Palin's interest in researching this issue destroys Frum's narrative that she isn't "intellectually curious" eludes him entirely. In another post the following day, Frum walked back his attack on Livestro, allowing that he is indeed well-qualified to provide the assistance for which he was employed, although Frum continued to question Palin's decision (as if any conservative needs Frum's blessing on, well, anything at all).

Could Frum be suffering from sympathetic Menopause Syndrome?

Moderates don’t like Palin’s politics because she’s a true CONSERVATIVE.

One of the defining features of Vichy Republicans is that they spend all of their ammo on Republicans, and none of it on Obama.

The Republicans who are engaged in combat against Obama find themselves being attacked continually by guys like Frum, and the old McCainiacs, and the Romneyites.

Its an easy litmus test. Look and see which Repubs are continually in Obama’s face, doing whatever they can to stop him from doing any more damage than he’s already done. And then look at which Repubs spend all their time attacking other Repubs.

The first list of names, those are your candidates for president. None of them have spent even one word attacking each other. Probably any of them would make a decent president.

The second list, those are your professional politicians and their paid flacks. You don’t want any of them anywhere near the White House.

I think Frum is driven by personal self interest to be honest. Talking and trashing Palin drives traffic to him and invites to the media

I wouldn't doubt it. Pat Buchanan has, for example, built a very profitable little business around writing and saying what a certain audience wants to read and hear.

Why not Frum as "The Voice of the RINO"(tm)?

I need ideas to help in Iowa. Huckahillbilly is still very popular here, and he would split the conservative Christian vote, possibly derailing Sarah....

How Huckabee Could Stop President Palin

I had some info. w/links on most of the GOP presidential candidates, but my computer crashed and I lost my info..

However, I do remember reading that Huckabee was sometimes a nanny-state governor, and pro-illegal immigration.
