From Kyoto to Stockholm, Boulder leaders in international demand

Boulder has long been on the national and international stage -- sometimes as the butt of hippie jokes -- but increasingly the spotlight is for the strides the city has made in land-use policies and reducing carbon emissions.

"We really are seen as one of the most innovative and leading cities in the area of sustainable communities," said Councilman Matt Appelbaum, who recently returned from a trip to Stockholm, Sweden, where Boulder was among 10 U.S. cities invited to talk about green policies at the local level.

Koehn, who has represented the city abroad several times, said he personally purchases carbon offsets through the Colorado Carbon Fund to make up for the impact of his trips.

LMAO! These people are SO stoopid.

OTOH, it’s good to see that Tom Sawyer is alive and well.

Nice that comrade Applebutt would feel compelled to jump on a pollution belching aircraft and fly halfway round the world to pontificate on the evil citizens who would do other than ride a bicycle or walk anywhere.

Boulder is viewed as the headquarters of dimwitted hippies who will believe anything their Leftist masters/gurus tell them:

Banana peels will get you high man, Manson is right on, CO2 kills plants and other living things.

“Yeah, like, man, the oil companies pay all the TEA Party people like $100,000 each to demonstrate against the government and the deniers are promised several billion each if they make ten comments per month denying the consensus science (it’s science just like gravity, man!) that the best scientist in the world, Al Gore, says is right. If Al Gore says it’s true, you know that is solid as a rock, man! He knows EVERYTHING.”

Colorado to the rest of the world: “Boulder is considered a joke. It would not exist save for government $$. As one example - remember the idiot police limpwrist who couldn’t even get up the cojones to inspect the entire house of that murdered child a few years back? Well, that was the most intelligent fellow in the city.”

Pay no attention to the jellyfish behind the curtain. They are idiots and we keep them in Boulder so as to know what they’re up to.

Those carbon offsets are the functional equivalent of the medieval selling of Church indulgences, for modern “Green” atheists.

They are predicting a low of 26 here on Humboldt Bay tomorrow night. I’ll have to shut off the water lines to the gardens and drain them

No thanks, I might take some Confederate bills or Continental Dollars. One of them is worth more than all the carbon credits are actually worth.
