I believe a single 50kt city buster detonation about a mile high over Kansas would effectively shut down every non hardened electric device from coast to coast. If this was such an attempt, their missile guidance sucked, and the dink with the camera missed the more dramatic sinking of the launch platform.

I know for a fact that the US Navy, as a matter of policy, does not let too many missile launch capable boats hover off the west coast.

I read a book “War Day” years back, I recommend it to those who think this was an attack.

I bet the navy is going to come up one tomahawk short at its next audit.

Or the Pentagon is cutting off a new purchase orders to Hughes and GD and GE.

The camera man said launch point over horizon. Have been assuming that the west-northwest track was the one intended, but hey, maybe we got some stuff now that can cause problems with guidance systems or affect trajectory. They may have been intending to get that puppy where you state, right over the heartland, but had a guidance problem.
