For the record, I am not going to convince you of anything.
I base my opinion on many years of photographing and digitally imaging objects in the sky, here in S. CA. using a remote controlled, computer operated optical observatory.

You're the fellow with the fantastic, super-cool backyard observatory, correct? Saw your pics on another thread -- they were fabulous. I also know that on earlier threads, you stated pretty clearly, and often, that this was a missile launch, not a commercial airline contrail.
And I agree, in part because the angle of the setting sun negates any claim that it could be illuminating an eastbound object.
