I'm a Sarah supporter and I like Barnes but this is a rather inane statement by Barnes...
"superficial notion of win-ability"
No winnee...no leadee!

“Superficial notion of winability” refers to the notion of the elusiv “fiscally conservative, socially liberal” candidate who would win over his equally elusive constituency of like-minded voters.

The ones that every pundit says we need to win but for some reason never get found in the electoral snipe hunt.

That “superficial notion” would put up, if not a Romney, then maybe a Pawlenty, Thune or Daniels. All of whom would inspire a tidal wave of ennui.

********************************

This statement was made by the pollster Kellyanne Conway. What she meant is that this nonsense about her not being able to win based on these polls two years out is superficial. The same was said about Reagan who, at this point in 1978 (two years before), trailed Carter by a whopping 57-35 in the Gallup poll, while Ford and Bush ran much stronger (LOL). Polls this far out ARE superficial.

Look at the electoral college map and the 2010 midterm results in key states like Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Michigan. Those are much better indicators than pre-primary polls and, on the basis of those, not only can she win, she is likely to win (assuming nothing materially changes).
