“come up with a job description for president and force these job aspirants to audition for the role.”

I like that.

>> I am amazed at how groupies have to know what the group approves of <<

I took Lindy's comment to be entirely tongue-in-cheek -- a veiled criticism of the group-think that seems to infect many of the FReepers who regularly bash anything connected with the National Review or the Weekly Standard.

Some of the habitual NR-bashers and WS-bashers apparently take the stance that if a Barnes or a Krauthammer seems at any time even tangentially or even slightly to favor some bad policy, like amnesty for illegals, regardless the context of his remarks, then he is always and ever thereafter supposed to be denounced, ignored, shunned and banished.

While this "group-think group" may constitute a small percentage of FReepers, they seem to dominate a disproportionately large percentage of threads. And maybe a little sarcastic humour, à la Lindy, is sometimes the best response.

>> I too like Barnes...and Kristol...and Krauthammer. I don't always agree with them, but I appreciate their viewpoints. <<

Maybe a bit risky to admit. You'd best don your flame suit and anti-zot armour ASAP!

Thank you Hawthorn, you understood my post and explained it better than I could have.

I have to chuckle when the groupies see a post from a person they have decided to hate, finally give a favorable write up to their cause.

Such confusion. Do we still call him stupid? Do we still call him a RINO elite? Do we say he has seen the light? After all Fred Barnes is a Beltway Boy.

OMG, how do we respond to this? How can we spin it? LOL

The groupies don’t see that some criticism is a good thing if it is noted by the person for whom it is intended.

I usually get banned around primary season when the hardliners at FR institute the group think rule wherein the only primary candidates one may support are the ones they have pre-approved.;-)

“......but she doesn’t have the depth or experience at this point to run a country fighting at least two wars, facing a disasterous deficit, and staring down an increasingly confrontational China and former Soviet Union.”

Who does?

Often stated by former Presidents is their observation that nothing in their lives prepared them for the Awesome responsibilities attendant with The Office of the President......that will again be the case in the upcoming 2012 election cycle.

The most “experienced” probable candidate, Obama, has shown us that he is incapable/incompetant in moving the nation forward in the direction “We” wish to go.....Obama’s dream of a socialist United States is not our dream......foreign relations under Obama/Hillary have, or are becoming, “strained” with an attendant loss in World respect for the US’s leadership......

Sarah has as much, and in many cases, more experience in political leadership than other potential candidates from all across the political spectrum Democrat or Republican.

She has worked her way up from PTA participation, to City Councilwoman, to Mayor,on to the State government level as both an administrative head and Governor, and is now a national political figure....all the while articulating the kitchen table issues that Americans care about.

Is she Perfect? No......no one is......

But her love for our Nation, her clear headed sense of the direction our country should take, and the the work ethic that drives her to reach her goals is what will, in the end, prove the deciding factor in her rise to the Presidency........

Experience? I’d say Sarah has plenty enough to assume the duties of POTUS.

You can bet on it!

No problem. I am always kind of sarcastic and forget the tag sometimes.

In this case, forgetting the sarcasim tag may have saved me some space in my “Foul Names I Have Been Called at FR” handbook.

I have always said that posting here allows you to be insulted at least once a day.
