The biggest mystery about this to me is not the video of the whatever. It’s just too little to come to absolute certainty about. It was the government’s reaction to it. It was uncertain, confused and morphed into gooberment speak.

Our military is focused on real threats. It has never been good at explaining why something it knows is not a threat is not a threat other than saying it's not a threat. Our systems immediately identify missile launches and similar events the minute they happen. When they don't happen...there is no warning. The FAA is responsible for tracking air traffic. In this case it did. And as far as the FAA is concerned, nothing unusual happened on 8 November. The only unusual event that took place on 8 November was a news crew speculating about a contrail that struck them as unusual. It is not the responsibility of the Federal government to convince people who want to believe something happened, that nothing happened. It just isn't, because the reality is, there is plenty for the government to focus on that is real.
