Oh, no!! Not the Comfy Chair (quasi obscure Monty Python reference; appropriate if you’ve seen the sketch).
Correct DBrow,
And do you have ANY confidence they will be any more ethical or pro American?
Or will they spend MY money like it is thier water like last time?
LOL! Censure, hey?
“Charlie, you, bad, bad, bad boy! Welp, now that that’s over, let’s all go get a beer, Charlie, and celebrate all the Democrat victories, including yours! Oh, by the way, Charlie, if you get caught with you hand in the cookie jar again, we’ll double-dog censure you!”
And for what? What crime did they commit?
Yet, they are gone...
Hey Charlie remember the theme song from that old TV show starring Robert Blake ? The one where he was a cop ? Beretta was the name of the show I believe. It went something like this.....” Don’t roll the dice if you can’t pay the price.....don’t do it “........” don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time......don’t do it “. You helped write the tax laws that you broke....and you want mercy ? And don’t use your military service either as a plea for mercy. You cheapen that service for all who have / are serving. The IRS would have jammed it to Audie L Murphy himself if he cheated on his taxes. Remember what they always told us in the Army Charlie ? Lead by example......not a very good example are you Charlie ?
how many votes are needed for explusion? and can the republicans redo the vote when they take back control and kick this bum out then?
Should have been expelled. But unlikely with this group of “progressives” running the circus.
Chief counsel Blake Chisman called for the punishment despite the veteran New York congressman's plea, in a prepared statement in advance of the hearing, for "a drop of fairness and mercy." If Chisam's recommendation is carried out, it would be the most serious punishment short of expulsion that could be meted out by the House... Rangel... repeatedly denied he was corrupt or crooked, sparking a clash with Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas.Thanks Justaham.
Someone with a sense of honor would be devastated by censure; however, Rangel’s “apology” doesn’t seem to indicate much in the way of honor, nor are we hearing that he’s breaking up his rent-controlled unit combo presently known as his home.
It’s funny that he would ask for fairness and mercy; he once said, The question of fairness is so subjective. It’s too bad Congress isn’t being fair to the American people. Expulsion is what he deserves, no matter how old he is.
Socialists and their best friends Rinos made a mockery of censure when they censured the “you lie” Republican guy.
The only difference between Rangel and the rest of the DNC is a carnation. Until the entire DNC is held accountable, it would be perverted to make Rangel a whipping boy.
Well! They SURE showed him!! [sarcasm off].
Seriously, if these people [Congfress had a brain in their collective heads, Good Time Charlie should be removed from ANY committee asignments related to taxes, monetary policy, etc., since: [a] his defenmse seems to be he can’t handle his own finances, and [b], they’re not going to toss him for being the bag of detretius he is.
